My Forge Idea - Infection

So after seeing the stream (uber fantastic by the way go check it out) I got this really neat idea:

Welcome to Westdyke - So the map is set place in a small rural neighborhood of Westdyke on Earth. A strange virus has swept the town and all of the inhabitants have…“changed”. The residents of the town who have not been affected by the virus are pitted against the undead waves that relentlessly charge at them.

Layout - So the layout would be a small, kind of “r” shaped, with a cul-de-sac at one end and at the other will have some sort of road block. The road block would be at the south end of the map. There would be about seventeen or so houses, each with their own goodies inside. Some of the previous residents might have left their garage keys on the counter so you could grab the sweet Warthog that’s inside, someone might have been a gun nut and have an armory in their house, someone might have had a technological career so they have their power up prototypes in stock or someone might have invested in security, therefore their house has automated doors and windows that could lock (scripted).

Setting - The map would have a time setting of high morning or whatever looks good with the fog. Yes, there will be thick layers of fog encircling the town. How fitting for an Infection game mode?

Design - The map’s design would include the infected spacing outside of the focused area of the town, within the kill boundaries, and would have to enter the street limits to begin their hunt. Still debating on whether or not I should have the infected have a radar so that way they could head in the direction of the shots (making silenced weapons useful to have and since the fog, they wouldn’t know the exact location unless the survivor did not move at all). But now that I mention it it would make logical sense since infected (TWD) are attracted by sound. Each house would have their own goodies. As I’ve mentioned, of the seventeen houses, each will include a variety of apocalypse survival necessities such as weapons, Warthogs or some scripted sliding doors. If welding is possible within weapons, I would weld the blue welding animation into any of the power weapons (shotguns, rocket launchers, ect.) so that they are not so OP and also make themselves an easy target to be seen within the fog. Each survivor would spawn throughout the area, some good distance between each other. That way the players could have that feeling of suspense and isolation. And so teaming up with survivors is not a necessity (can’t blame anyone for your own mistakes now!).

Game Options - Still debating whether or not the infected will have normal movement speed or increased to some degree. Should have put the radar thing here but oh well. Speaking of which, the survivors would spawn with nothing (if it could be done) or just a normal magnum. Still have to think about the rest of the options

Oh and I’ve decided to include some sort of scripted security measures. Like turrets on the map but the switches for them are found throughout the map (if this is something you can do)

Ye, I would love a Flood Warzone map. The Flood are one of my fav things about Halo, I guess cuz I like more scary or horror stuff.

Hope nobody stole this idea. I for one will be building a huge urban playground. Similar to Chronopolis.
