My fix for the game's problem.

I have been sitting around trying to find fixes for everything i could think of that is flawed.

DMR: Either the Reticles should be expanded or use the Halo Reach super slayer bloom.

Boltshot: add 0.5 second charge to the secondary shot and buff the primary fire damage and nerf the secondary shot range.

Thruster pack: need’s more range to be effective, twice the range should be enough.

Join in progress: Game should not be joinable when there is 100 point difference (Adjustable)

More to be added.

How’s being 14 treating you?

Make the dmr, br, and any other primary/secondary weapon ineffective at shredding vehicle armor. I never liked this in reach, and if you really want true skill to shine, shoot the driver out of the vehicle the way you did in halos ce-3.

Also either take out the pp and stickies from custom classes, or just take custom classes out altogether, as it seems like they are causing several problems with this game anyhow.

DMR Fix: Decrease bullet magnetism. The only reason it is more versatile is because you have to aim it less. It should have less magnetism than the BR due to the BR’s bullet spread.

Boltshot fix: Simply decrease damage on the boltshot so that it is never a one-hit kill under normal circumstances. If it works more like a mauler that you have to charge, then that would balance it. Boltshot would still be effective at close range, but wouldn’t beat things like shotguns, swords, or scattershots.

Thruster pack: Increase range, disable the jarring third-person toggle when used. Allow people to actually aim and shoot while using it.

Join in progress: Make matchmade games unable to be joined after 5 minutes, no exceptions.

Lag: Incorporate some dedicated servers courtesy of Microsoft.

Those are my fixes.

  1. There’s a very easy fix for a lot of this games problems, and that is static weapon spawns. Weapon spawns encourage map movement and map control. This resolves the problem of so many of us just camping out at the bases and cross mapping with the dmr.

  2. Take the boltshot out of load outs and make it a pick up. All of the complaints about the bs really boil down to it being a starting weapon.

  3. Eliminate power weapons from ordnance drops, limit ordnance to power ups and grenades.

With the exception of the dmr, these fix almost all of the games “balance” issues.

I think the game itself is in dire need for a rank system (that isn’t a leaderboard).

Halo 2 and 3 we tried to hit level 50

Halo Reach we tried to be Inheritor

Halo 4 everyone is already 70% of the way to SR130.

It really needs that incentive on THAT end of things. I also really don’t like how players that are owning in games are rewarded with MORE powerful weapons too. It’s what made me never get into CoD. If you are skillful, it should challenge you the better you do, not vice versa. How does this encourage newer players to get into the game? At this point, one year from now we will only have the super skilled players using Infinity Slayer at all while the rest of us filter into Oddball and other non Infinity style playlists. Even then, if the ranks don’t get here soon, who wants to play anything anyways?

The problems really aren’t about which few weapons are overpowered here seeing that everyone is free to start with them anyways. It’s how the rest of the game runs and allows players to progress.

Mind you I am waiting for the several passes and tweaks to happen to gameplay until only Jetpack and Thruster pack are left… Seems to be the course these games take throughout history.

I’m currently a 1.80 KD or so so I’m not a slouch but I can really still respect the weaker and newer players challenges they face in games.

It literally feels like at this point if you are the bottom 2 on your team and you have died say 2 times in a row without killing anyone, THEN you should get a drop. And so challenge the ‘better’ players for real at that point. Sure they can always pick up what you drop but the new system on how fast stuff disappears works in this case too. Or even if your team is winning by OVER a certain amount, your team gets no drops at all possibly? Say by winning by over 10 kills or 100pts.

I currently am in a clan that has been around 3 years and I’m seeing the majority of my players NOT playing in comparison to one month ago. The disinterest really worries me because I want this game to STRIVE and own the competition just because I’ll lose touch with friends if it doesn’t in a way.

It may be part of the strategy to bring new things online like ‘clan tags’ etc in this game but they need to come when the game is new, not to drag out interest per say. The best key when it comes to interest is KEEPING it, not using gimmicks as an excuse to come back. Case in point, the 360 outselling the Wii U currently. But that’s a different topic all together.

This game has all it needs RIGHT NOW to make it work. The balance is there they just need a few features added and either an ALTERED infinity slayer introduced or just ‘classic Reach slayer’ put in in it’s place.

Amazing game, just the longevity has some big problems ahead I fear.

Personal ordinance should’nt be random. it should be in set’s e.g:
1st PO set = Saw/Frag grenade/Speed boost

2nd PO set = Needler/Pulse grenade/Damage Boost

3rd PO set = Sticky detonater/Plasma grenade/Overshield
