please read all the way to the bottom otherwise you’re going to screw up your live/internet.
you should have some technical understanding of your router, ip, and internal ip.
I like many of you, have really fast internet. Comcast cable to be exact. no problems with online co-op in any halo game till now. I searched this forum for a solution, and when no one had one. I just used common sense to make my experience as bearable as possible.
it now runs flawless.
okay. so since I’m the host. I decided i had two things to do to make the experience better.
1.open my routers NAT for my xbox
2.clear all ports on my router for my xbox
you can google both of them. it’s a little different for every router.

i followed these two links for my nat,
and then i just forwarded ports. because I’ve done it for pc games. the kicker is you have to use the ip that you set your xbox too. in addition, you have to understand your gateway ip is different then your xbox ip.
my online experience has zero lag now. hope this helps all of you capable of following these steps.
p.s. im not sure what the nat really does, so forwarding those ports might very well have been overkill. maybe just try the nat first and see how it plays out
