My first try in big team slayer (video)

i am new to the Halo universe.

tips welcome…

Well my first suggestion is that if you are new, don’t start of with Big Team Slayer, since you are a low level, you don’t have any of the 4 long range rifles unlocked, so it makes it very hard to kill people on the big maps provided in Big Team.

Secondly when using the Assault Rifle, or any automatic gun, don’t just hold down the right trigger. If you burst fire automatic weapons it makes them 100 times more accurate when it’s not quite close quarters. That said don’t go shooting someone with it from far away, if they have a long ranged rifle they will beat you.

As I said first off if you want to get better I would suggest just playing normal slayer on the smaller maps, because that way you can level up to earn the long range rifles + get experience with the game without having to deal with massive teams and loads of vehicles and power weapons at once.

Welcome to the Halo Universe first off.

So playing tips.

  1. Start off in a smaller playlist like Infinity Slayer or Regicide.

  2. Pick a loadout that suits your style. If you prefer close range use weapons like the Assault Rifle or Storm Rifle. Medium range Id go with the Covenant Carbine or Battle Rifle and for long range the DMR or Light Rifle. Try to pick abilities that suit that play style as well. Just experiment until you find one you like.

  3. Personally id switch controls to Bumper Jumper. Might take a little while to get used to, but having a full range of movement while still being able to aim is crucial for gun fights. Also mess around with the sensitivity till you find one that suits.

  4. A big difference between Halo and other FPS games is that it requires a little more thought when playing. Think about the fights you are getting into, dont run into a two or three vs one unless you have a power weapon like a rocket launcher. Try to stick close to your team mates. Running in groups is always better than fighting solo. Generally just take a little second before you run out to engage someone and think, what are my chances of winning this fight? Dont be afraid to run away from a battle, the longer you stay alive the better.

  5. Party up with people and play. Im sure plenty of people on the forums would be willing to invite you and give out tips as they are playing. Hop in to custom game 1v1s as well, helps alot with your aiming.

  6. This one only works for some people and its wether you can be bothered to do it or not. Make use of theater and watch back some of your games. Pick out parts that you did badly on a think about what you could do differently next time. I used to do this alot back in halo 3.

Good Luck and have fun playing  !

Play the campaign first to acquaint yourself with the game mechanics, weapons, AAs, story, etc. Then jump into multiplayer.

If you need teammates, look here > Recruiting Forum

get good with your favorite AA’s there way more useful in this title. I prefer the thruster pack while it gets a lot of hate that only comes fromthose who suck at it. It can relaly get you out of a pinch but theres a skill gap when using it. Theres a requirement for tactics as well. Theres also hardlight sheild which can deflect almost anything except for the sticky det so if you use it right you can bounce rockets and tank shells back possibly killing them theres also a skill gap there, dont use hardlight unless your covering for a team mate or need to block rockets.

0:09 Never use the AR at those ranges. If you have to shoot someone that far out, use the Magnum. The game also lets you spawn with a DMR loadout, use that instead.

0:32 Don’t chase kills. Will get you killed against good teams.

1:43 if your shields are down take cover.

You also seem to be having trouble aiming.

If you are at a range where you have to burst fire then you are not within the effective range of the AR, and thus will get -Yoink- on by precision weapons.

i am gonna put these tips in effect tomorrow.

thx people.
