I have been forging since halo 3 came out and recreated beaver creek and blood gulch, and constructed many intricate maps, but never have i submitted a map on waypoint before. though ive never done this before, i really wanted to show off one of my creations. I usually make maps for infection and fun, but i worked on a map for multiplayer/competitive gameplay and I believe that everyone who sees and tests this map out would agree it is interesting, different, and well made. But not trying to sound arrogant i know that it is not the best or even close, but it’s definently a map you need to try out, if you want to see a very peculiarly interesting map.

High Tide
Hello Soul Edge989…Welcome to Way point. I will download your map to my xbox and check it out the next time I play Reach. I haven’t made to many maps, but below is the link to one. It is only my third map…first I upload to file share. I’d appreciate any constructive criticism you might have respectfully…
The map as far as description goes supports FFA and team slayer. I built it on the fly mostly from the center outward. I’m just an amateur at building maps. Again, welcome…good hunting.
LB426 Alpha
I checked out your map “High Tide.” I thought it was unique, the only map I have seen with fighting on the beach concept. I felt the balance of weaponry was good on both sides. I liked the touch of placing the Falcon in a camping site so to speak. I think the high tide effect will make some interest effects in the heat of battle in FFA or Team Slayer. Be it my comments are amatuer in nature as far map forging goes. I like it. It was a simple layout but effective. Should make for some fun battles.Have a good one. Good Hunting…

I will download your map when I get on and then do a beta test and inspection on the map. After that I will give you my creative feedback. I am not a pro when it comes to forging but I am very good at it. I am one of the main Cartographers (map builders) in my community Dark Hole Games If you would like to see one of many maps I built check out the map Redemption.
My community is planning on releasing some maps for the Halo community to download for free in the close future. We use to do strictly slayer, but now we have some mini games, BTB, Races and more. If you have any forge questions let me know
thanks for the feedback, some things you might find interesting on the map while you check it out are. The falcon that is on the map is in fact impossible to acquire, if you try to get it down, it will blow up, and its supposed to look as if its a crashed falcon, and some time ago the pilots set up camp there with a rescue beacon still active. anyways it is possible to get out of the map, but you will die from kill zones. the spawn areas are not perfect so it is possible to spawn trap, but the game is meant for at maximum a 4v4. lastly the map was first made with the intention of an infection game and zombies spawning from a boat.
(to darkjedi, and lrch): thanks for your comments, and i will in return check out the maps you forged and give you my feed back. ill probably be done in 1 or 2 days after posting this.
PS: im also deciding between two maps i want to make, a recreation of beaver creek, or a recreation of CoD Blops zombie map Kino Der toten. ill make another topic with a poll.
So I checked out the map and played on it and the only things that were a concern was:
-
Snipers are at 30 seconds and that is to short. The placement for them is also not the best. I would scrap them or scrap the concussion & rockets and put one sniper in the center.
-
Not enough normal weapons or grenades
-
Map feels a bit cramped
-
I would only have the mongoose on there if the map was more open and if it was objective based.
-
Respawns are predictable on both sides.
What I did like is how you made it in the water and used rocks. Maybe a little to much rock, but it was still fun to play on. We felt it was more suited for 2v2 though because of the size.
thanks for the feedback. i knew it had some flaws, but its my first competitive gameplay map.
i will be checking out your maps tomorrow and be posting feed back on here or on another thread
I actually liked the the way you made the map. It’s very unique and I liked it.
i checked out the maps you guys wanted me to see, they were really good, different, but good.
