My few gripes about the game thus far

I want to start off by saying that I fairly enjoyed the flight, however there were some issues that I ran into quite frequently:

First off- I didn’t really like the aim in the game, something about it just felt so inconsistent. I’m not sure if it was a hit detection issue or what.

Second- I don’t know if this is just an issue for me or if other people had this same issue, but I felt as if it was hard to know whether someone was weak enough or not. It was difficult to tell if you fully broke someone’s shield. There were times where I thought all someone needed was a melee to be finished and that was not the case, thus resulting in me dying.

Third- the melee mechanics are not like original halo at all, or even halo 5. It was almost as if some people had commando pro( a perk from COD that would allow you to lunge further) and other times it felt as if my character would lunge straight through the other person.

Fourth- I had a huge issue with bullet indication, especially in regards to being shot in the back. I never knew who and where someone was shooting me from a lot of the time, especially when being shot in the back.

Fifth- The grenade spam is REAL!!! There is just way too many grenades on maps and easy access to all different kinds of grenades, which definitely don’t help aid in all the grenades being thrown. For me it makes the game a little too fast paced because of all of the grenades. If I had killed someone, and was weak, and needed to heal up for a second, I never got the chance to do so because of the amount of grenades that would be thrown my way by the opposing team.

Sixth- The weapon switching also needs to be fixed on PC. I personally feel like there needs to be a delay in the scroll wheel on a mouse for switching weapons. I can’t explain how many times I tried to switch weapons in a gun fight and couldn’t get to my secondary because I kept scrolling past it, thus landing back on the same gun I already have out.

I would like to say besides these 6 issues I constantly ran into, I’m excited to see what halo has in store, and am hopeful that by the 6 month post release it’ll be a 10/10 game. I’m also extremely grateful to have been given the chance to even play the flight, and experience the game early.

THIS SO MUCH!!! I can’t count the number of times i was being shot at but barely even recognized that i was being shot due to how quiet the hit sounds are, as well as the on screen indicators being really bad. In the other halos the indicators was at least enough to recognize you were being shot at and in what general direction, in infinite its the complete opposite.

I agree 100%. I hope they make it easier for people to see and hear. We need something :stuck_out_tongue: like c’mon lol.

I’ve been hearing a lot about weapon bloom making aiming and shooting feel inconsistent. Makes sense.
But I’m convinced hit detection is also an issue most people haven’t recognized which leads them to believe some guns are too weak, like the AR. Personally, the AR always feels much better against bots than it does against other players, so perhaps the game’s netcode isn’t exactly the best. Sometimes, its like your game tells you you hit that guy and gives you hit markers, but the server doesn’t recognize it, so the damage never happens.
