My Feedback

So, I’ve been playing Halo since I was 2. Halo 2 was my first game in the series but I made sure to play the heck out of CE, and by the time 3 came out I was also a big fan. I’ve played my fair share of 4 and 5, and it’s safe to say that Infinite is looking to be an incredible blend of every defining feature and mechanic sprinkled throughout every Halo game as time has gone on.

However, there are a few elements of Infinite’s gameplay I’d like to address.

  • Grenades: Spartans can now chuck Grenades across maps with incredible aim, which basically makes throwing grenades in tighter situations useless since they fly past your enemy. Grenades always had an arch in previous Halos which actually allowed you to aim where you wanted them to go, and seeing as how a grenade throw now is a straight shot that goes extremely far anyway eliminates the purpose of that as well. Not to mention that people are a little too reliant on grenade spamming. (especially in Strongholds, where you can get tightened in a corner by gunfire) - Sidekick: Most people thing the AR is overpowered, but honestly, I think it’s pretty balanced. The Sidekick however is waaay too powerful. The incredible rate of fire and damage makes it the most used weapon in CQC encounters in almost all of my fights. The handguns in Halo were almost always slow and methodical in how you shot them, but I suppose the mostly guaranteed return of the Magnum will solve that. I still think the Sidekick damage should be toned down a tad bit. Honestly, that’s all i’ve got atm. Infinite is honestly really fun and it’s a very nice throwback to the old days. The best way to describe the experience is like a plate of nachos. Nice, cheesy nachos are liked by everyone, and in this regard, the nachos are the Bungie-era of games. But nachos are made way better with sour cream, guac, bacon, beans, jalapenos, etc. Those in this situation, are all the little additions and tweaks that build upon the foundation of what makes Halo great. I’m very confident in Halo’s future.
