Here are just a few bullet point notes from my experience playing the first halo infinite flight, on pc m&k. (no particular order)
-
Razer Chroma: I have a viper mini plugged in and have synapse v3 installed. I like how the chroma is not so much in your face while you are playing a match but it does tend to wig out while in the menu or loading into a game. It will shutter from a lot of blue and tan tones while on the menu without a smooth fade or anything. I can’t imagine this being a power draw issue as I have never had this issue before in other games. It could be an addressing issue, but I am not too familiar with razer’s LED system. - Slide cancel/ Mantle: While I love the movement I had many instances where when I would slide cancel the player model would either appear ahead of me or the knee would shoot up from the ground and briefly block my vision. I assume this is simply a visual bug because it didn’t affect my momentum and I couldn’t tell that other player’s models were appearing weird. I would experience similar issues when mantling but especially when I mantle and then immediately try to sprint. I ran into a couple of instances where I would try to mantle and start rubber banding very hard. It would only last a few seconds but affected my gameplay significantly and was very distracting. - Commando**:** I love the commando but it has very weak body damage. As a full-auto weapon, I would assume that it would perform better when trying to control spread, however, because this weapon has such a hard recoil direction I found it very hard to use when firing in full auto. I would suggest perhaps decreasing the headshot multiplier in favor of a more controlled spread. Either that or increased base damage. - Sniper: VERY LOUD, still fun
- Sidekick: I love this gun! The only insight I have is to increase its range if there is not a precision slayer mode, if there is going to be one I would say it is perfect! - Base Speed**:** I really like this base speed compared to the running speed. The maps are small enough where you can run away from an engagement to heal quickly while running, and therefore keeping the pacing of the game fast. I like this much better than halo 5 where sprinting away would slow down the gameplay because you couldn’t heal until you stopped running. - Zoom: Toggle zoom works great but I had a lot of issues with hold to zoom, I prefer to hold to zoom but it would not work correctly almost every time to the point where I avoided it altogether. - Skewer**:** Been seeing a lot of hate on this gun, I love it! It is a one-shot at almost anywhere on the body and I had a blast using it, I expect a lot of people don’t understand if it is supposed to be a sniper or a rail gun. I’d say it’s a sick hybrid of both and I love the risk/reward of using it! - Season Pass: Love it! Can’t wait to see where they go with this and how other game devs react to its surefire success. - Music: Very beautiful! I love the menu theme and the subtle rock during the game was not distracting at all. Great work! - Waypoint: The email system worked much better, don’t think there’s much more to say. - Sound Staging: There was only one game where the player noises (such as grunts and moans) were much more pronounced and the gun sounds and explosions were nearly muted. Only happened once but it was very strange, other than that it sounds great. - Spartan Chatter: A bit much at first but then I got used to it. I prefer if my character or others would not say lines that do not give any viable information, (such as “Over yonder!”) - Sandbox: Incredible, the best sandbox I’ve seen in a long time. I can’t wait for the full game and more flights ahead.
