My feedback for Halo Infinite Technical Test

In general I like the gameplay quite a bit.
I’ll start with the things I think need improving.

  • Sprint. Honestly seems pointless and I feel like walking/running is the better way to get around. I would increase the sprint speed ever so slightly. Maybe between 5 and 10% faster. - Think the audio indication for taking damage should be louder. - Buff the heatwave. - Season pass xp from completing matches, getting medals as opposed to only leveling up through challenges. - Seems like you can’t change your Spartan gender. Body type yes but didn’t see option for male/female. - General performance and graphical issues i noticed although that is the whole point of this preview right?Good

  • Art style. - Starting weapons. - Commando. - Maps. - Lighting. - Music. - Menu is mostly easy to navigate although I think the season pass could be better presented after matches. Show me unlocking the next item in the battle pass. - Gameplay is satisfying.Thats all I can think of for now. I’ve played about 7 or 8 matches.

So far so good.

First off, love your opinions. Most of them I agree with, except for the Sprint and the Heatwave. The sprint is supposed to be like that to be the perfect compromise. Sure, a minor buff by about 4% at the max is good, but we don’t want the sprint that nearly doubles your speed like we did in Halo 5.

Second, the Heatwave is classified as a shotgun. Go to one, and see what it says beneath “Heatwave”. It says shotgun. In vertical mode, a Heatwave is a two hit as long as your aim is true, and your distance is small.

Around 4% would be good, I’ll have to give heatwave another go.

The gameplay itself is great and the three maps that were available were very good. I did encounter game lag whenever I recorded game and experienced heavy game lag for minutes after recording games three to four times. Also this is something you don’t have to change though I’m sure some people would like the health regeneration to only regenerate when you’re not sprinting though I don’t mind it the way it is now…it could be a nice addition again like in Halo 5 making it to where you are forced to not sprint like in other Halo games but for a brief time only making it like that for health regen. It would only change the pace slight if not a little bit.

Xbox one s:
1: During the whole flight I couldn’t hear any voices. Only Ambiental sounds (guns, grenades, spartan grunts, footsteps, punches etc.), as well, I had some ambiental sound issues too.

2: The menu interface is really buggy and is not that easy to navigate on. Also, I think is to saturated. To me, the menu should be intuitive, quick, clean, and easy to use.

3: The Heatwave should be a little more powerful (is kind a difficult for me to shoot), an augment on the damage could be good. The plasma weapon is also a little hard to use when using the charge shot, improving the tracking projectile could be a solution. The drop shield is really weak and slow to be activated; improving the resistance and how fast appears would be better. I feel a little indifference with the Skewer, is really hard for me to shoot and to actually hit an enemy, but I guess that’s just a “my” problem. I believe that the gravity hammer is great, but I don´t see the big impact on the “gravity” side of things; the physics when using this weapon should be crazy, like launching a Spartan to oblivion, not just pushing him to one side…

4: The game runs on 30 to 25 Fps, which I think is okay, but playing a Halo with a such low frame rate is odd; hope that the Fps on Xbox one fat/s be better.

5: There is a ton of visual glitches, (for example when looking on the edge of the screen and moving the camara around, you can see a lot of popping).

6: Sometimes when starting the multiplayer intro, you would stay stuck watching the map show off in loop for like 25 seconds, before the match starts (with no Spartan intro), which is a little annoying and takes the cool presentation of the map away, also sometimes you wouldn’t watch the intro and the match ending of the Spartans, leaving only a black screen with the multiplayer music. That’s something that happened to my lots of times.

7: The aim assist is odd, which makes that aiming in general be a bit difficult.

8: The effects of the frag grenades, plasma, SPNKR, are good, but I think they are too small (I would love to see more particles, smoke, lights etc.) and they don’t make a great interaction with the map, for example, the SPNKR only leaves a small mark where it exploded, I mean, literally a rocket just exploded there, and the map looks totally normal, with almost no interaction.

9: The bots are amazing, with little exceptions like forgetting the players, when using the camo they completely don’t see you, and that makes that kill them be very easy, when they pick a weapon they take a lot time to react, you can trigger the action of the bot “trying to punch you” when you use the drop shield (another advantage), the difference between ODST and SPARTAN aren’t so different, sure they are hard, but predictable. Same as me, they don’t know how to use the Skewer. They use in extreme frequency the drop shield, sometimes they go all together and then go “crazy”. And that’s it.
I loved this flight, and I hope I can see more.
Thanks, 343i, and good first step.

Sorry for all that text (and sorry if wrote something wrong, im not american).

Its not a bug. Game studios these days are using “body types” instead of making players choose either male or female characters. This is in an effort to not alienate those who do not identify as either. Opinions vary on this subject.

I I played the technical test on my XboxOne. The one I’ve had since 2014. Halo infinite ran GREAT, I have very few moments of lag, like three, and overall I was excited and eager for all three days I was able to hop in and slay bots. It was a lot of fun
And I cant wait for the next test. I thought the battle rifle felt heavy to use, wich isnt necessarily a bad thing. In halo 5 the battle rifle kinda sucked and it fired too fast. With the halo infinite battle rifle you have to time your shots and be more precise. The new dmr style rifle was a lot of fun to use, although it it very hard to use full auto, it still seemed well balanced. The heatwave seemed like a difficult weapon to use untill I figured out how to aim it right then it was another shotgun. The ODST Bots were way less of a pushover than the marine bots, those odsts use there pistols way more. I LOVE how the armor is going back to reach days where I can have different sholder pads, it’s great, and the prosthetics, arms and legs like hell yes. I’ve played halo since the launch of combat evolved, after all of those years from halo 2 to now of my multiplayer Spartian has seen many different armor sets and even more enemies, so it’s cool to be able to show that my spartian has been through some hell… but you can keep a good spartian down, so I continue my fight with a robot arm and leg. OVERALL I’m extremely excited for launch and to see what other bots you put in the game to fight. Last little bit, it would be cool to have a different variation of the prosthetic arm and leg similar to the halo reach arm that had a few moving parts, its just visually more appealing. Keep up the great work 343.
