Casual Halo player have played since CE, currently ranking platinum 1 while chasing 6 kids around, older thumbs.
Very tired after earning capstone challenge, some of the challenges encourage non-optimal behaviour in order to complete the challenge, my example was not grabbing a flag quite so quick in hopes of killing someone trying to return it.
I had to explain to my 8 year old that the armour and skins she really liked in the store cost $15, which she thought was outrageous. She felt the swap pack should be worth $0.40, not equivalent of $3 (lol, kids don’t mince words)
For the effort I put in the number of battle pass levels I earned felt fair, I dislike that the majority of the “rewards” are challenge swaps or XP grants, so it meant the levels were less rewarding.
I was disappointed that the capstone reward was only able to be applied to the Mark 7, not the Yoroi or Mark 5.
I feel some of the flashy cosmetic effects (the flame effect) are appropriate for premium items but feel there should be more variety of free items. Compared with Halo MCC there is hardly any customization. It feels the pyramid of premium versus free is inverted - there is a tiny offering of free stuff and lots of so-so premium content with a high asking price, please consider a good foundation of free customization options with really epic quality items - I’ve always been impressed with Path of Exiles F2P marketing strategies because the premium items really feel premium but are completely cosmetic.
For example, premium Yoroi armour would come with clouds of lightning or smoke or dripping flood spores (omg would totally pay for that one)
Or how about a Craig face helmet? I might even buy that one lol.
Also bothered to get 3 stars on all weapon drills. Was a bit surprised no achievement was awarded, but really it’s equivalent to a digital “good job!” sticker. My dopamine receptors were a bit disappointed.
