My Experience With The Tech Preview

I’ve been playing Halo since CE 2001 when I was 9, so I’ve been playing a long, long time without missing a single Halo release. I managed to play 41 hours of the tech preview this weekend playing all play sessions + training with bots.

Halo Infinite has been the most fun I’ve had in a Halo game since the release of Halo 3, the balance of the game feels really good and fair, I feel everyone is sleeping on a few weapons I’ve found to be very powerful such as pulse carbine & ravenger. The bulldog is my personal favourite new weapon being a 3 tap or 1 tap 1 melee, I am personally glad the shotgun doesn’t allow 1 hit kill and allows the defending player to make a reversal if the attacker isn’t experienced or skilled enough to win the engagement. ARs are finally in a good spot where they’re useable outside of the first 3 seconds of a match but are easily countered by BRs & Commandos.

Movement feels, just crisp zero complaints. If I hit a slide around a corner I am instantly harder to hit and more likely to win that engagement, the best movement came with the grapple hook, having a piece of equipment that allows me to make aggressive plays feels awesome, even the drop wall when used aggressively people don’t expect it, when I say aggressively I mean you go to push a player seconds before the engagement starts you throw a drop wall and start shooting, that one bullet or three when strafing will lose them the fight almost 100%.

The vehicles, I don’t remember the warthog feeling so good to drive, its feedback is instant and I feel very in-control, same with the ghost feels really good to use and when on foot you know not to engage that vehicle without those EMP grenades.

BTB was a little boring outside of the loot caves, air vehicle drops need to increase by 100% and get more tanks on the field, I hardly felt the impact vehicles had outside of the warthog and ghost, I’d be sitting there with the skewer wanting to destroy a vehicle wondering where they are.
Arena per normal feels amazing, need at least 4 more maps to continually feel fresh if we only have those 4 maps at release it’s going to get boring a little.

Spartan armours - nothing to say outside of perfection! and the voice lines from the AI are funny my personal favourite one “Look, I’m not gonna say Master Chief’s got competition, but … well, he does” after hitting a perfect medal on a commando - love the referencing to the legendary 117.

Lastly, I can’t play another shooter. I loaded COD, Destiny to get my FPS fix outside outside the playing hours of Infinite I didn’t want to play those games, I wanted Halo even now I want to play Halo, I cannot wait for release I cannot wait to experience the campaign and jump back into multiplayer to chase after Onyx rank again.

LETS GO 343 ON A SMASHING HALO GAME!!

I have the same sentiment and experience as you. I haven’t played the beta that mush this weekend, just 10 hours, but man it’s the most fun I’ve had in Halo in over a decade. I’ve also been playing Halo since Halo CE. I’m a regular Destiny 2 player and running Destiny 2 in between has made me itch more for Halo Infinite.
It definitely feels like we got a good balance of classic Halo + modern FPS features.

Maybe we’ll see each other in a game and kill each other

100% on board with what you said. May the better player win  come on December!!

I feel like I’m going to love this Halo as one of my favorites, it’s definitely the best multiplayer since Reach.
