My experience so far with TMCC.. Multiplayer

Upon hearing about the release of the new Master Chief Collection, and being a HALO 3 / HALO 4 fan, I thought I would invest in an xbox one for myself and my kids.
I went to gamestop and purchased the following:

  • 2 XBOX One game systems (one for me and one for my kids), one with kinect, one without.- 2 extra controllers- 2 12 month subscriptions to xbox live gold- 2 copies of halo master chief- Spend over $1000 on all of this, thinking of all of the hours of HALO 3 and 4 I played, it would be well worth it with all the versions.

Got home, and set everything up and got ready to play some online multiplayer to try out halo 2 since I never played it before…

  • I could not get a match after about 3 minutes so I tried a few more times. Nothing.- Finally got in a HALO 2 match (as a first time player) and being rusty as hell, I only got 1 kill and was in a match with somebody who got 50 freakin kills. Not sure how this match making works, but it doesnt appear to be working very well from any aspect (skill matching making, or match making in a reasonable amount of time).- After the match, I saw something that said “loading…” and the game crashed and sent me back to the xbox home screen.- I purchased the game the day it came out, and tried to play every day. I have so far only played 2 matches due to the failed match making.- Also the game has crashed when trying to view game stats while in the match making screen, consistently.- Now I can’t play HALO 4? I could never get matched in HALO 3…- What did I pay for???This is the worst video game experience I have ever had, seen or heard about. The xbox for my kids is still in the box ready to go back to the store if this does not get fixed by next weekend. I am extremely dissapointed and in shock that Microsoft allowed this software to be released in such a terrible state.

So if we pay for a game, and parts of the game we expect to be there, are not there, can we get our money back?

I was waiting to buy the Xbox One until Halo came out, ended up buying the Forza bundle with Kinect and a second controller the day the price dropped $50.
It has been disappointing, but it should be worth it in the long haul when these issues get fixed.

You say this as though it will never be fixed. Be patient, and wait for these issues to be resolved, as they are currently working endlessly trying to fix it.

And once all these issues are fixed (And yes, they WILL be fixed), this game will definitely be worth the wait.

Besides, there are a ton of other great games for the Xbox One. One temporarily broken game isn’t worth returning the whole console.
