I think,
it’s good- of course. However, it’s very quick.
And you need to learn the new vibe of the game. It’s not like other Halo multiplayer, where you can easily switch between playing Halo 3, to Reach, to 4, to Reach again (and so on). It’s more complicated (I believe).
It’s more COD like, the vibe. It’s much faster, quicker to shoot away someone’s energy shield (good and bad), plus the cross-hairs are much (much) smaller (unless you aim down the sight).
Oh, and there’s aim down the sight.
I’m not necessarily complaining. It’s the evolution of Halo. We just have to get used to it.
Finally, there’s also new additions and features, like the Spartan Charge and the Slam-down. These are great, of course, but like I said, you have to get used to the game before being able to simultaneously do all these things.
For example, there might be a perfect opportunity to do a quick slam-down from above, but instead you panic a bit and decide to start shooting him instead (or her. That too- there’s female spartan voices too which is pretty cool). But it’ll come with time.
So in three words. Faster, difficult, but still fun. 7.5/10 (and will only get better).
Thoughts?

i just want to thank you for your points and how much they’ve made more sense than most people.
i want to complain because i don’t think halo needs to change, but for some reason it seems to be the way its going to happen so i guess ill just play my broken -Yoink- MCC instead.
What part of H5 is fast? I’m genuinely interested because when people say H5 is fast I have to question what they mean… You mean sprinting is fast and you can get to the other side of the map fast? If that’s what you mean then sure… it’s fast.
What needs to be fast though is gun battles. As it stands right now…they are slower than they have ever been. Between sprint and thrust… having medium to long range encounters is comically slow and drawn out.

What part of H5 is fast? well despite what you seem to think a one on one match is easily shorter because there’s less movement options in short range combat, you can’t strafe as fast and there’s no gandhi jumping so this reduces drawed out gun fights. your only option in a fight is to thrust which ever way you want which i don’t think helps either party and just delays the fighting for a moment.

No, it’s the fastest since Halo CE
having medium to long range encounters is comically slow and drawn out.
this is true because people can just thrust behind cover, but when you have sprint, shoulder “barge”, a strong SMG, and AR. most kills are close quarters.

Also I think you are downplaying the effectiveness of thrust unless you are only referring to CQC which quite frankly unless you are in Iron-Silver division isn’t a tactic that is going to work well for you.

Once the BRs and DMRs are picked up the idea that CQC will be viable is by and large nullified. Not to say it doesn’t still happen but it certainly won’t be the norm.
Fun, but very hard for me to get used to. Had 50 in both H3/H2 back in the day, and now, I can’t even reach gold. Not saying that’s bad. Just that I’m having a hard time getting used to the new movement. Need to watch some more of Ghosty’s gameplay to understand how it works.

i don’t believe that it was a good thing i think it should have been messed with, but it was. i don’t use the thrust pack in close range because yes it is useless, i only use it in long range cause frankly i think long range combat is pointless because we have thrust pack, so i avoid them entirely.
Not talking about TTK. I’m talking about start of engagement to end of engagement (death) on average across all distances. The average engagement time is higher than it has ever been because of sprint and thrust.
i’m sorry i confused this because i simply haven’t grasped the fact that a halo game has such long range shooting is in an arena setting in halo, cause its never been as long distance as it is in Halo 5.

there are so many corners and straights in the Halo 5 beta i don’t see how you don’t come in contact with short range combat, i feel like mid to short range is the norm because long range and some mid ranges its redundant to exchange fire, because at any point on of you can thrust behind cover.
