Am I at a disadvantage with 8.4 download speed and 3.2 upload?
I would say no. My old speed was 14 down / .25 up, yes 1/4 megabit up and that was decent. The biggest issue with a slow upload is your shots not registering in true server time as well as minor teleportation. With my new speed I’m at 60 down and 4 up and everything feels more crisp. Based on this I think it’s safe to say your up and down are fine. Also don’t forget to factor in whether you’re on WIFI or not and if someone else is using your bandwidth because that will start to affect your timing online.
My kids stream videos on there iPads. I stream my TV and that works fine but for $5 more a month I can get 60mbs download.
In order to have a good connection on Xbox One then your download speed must be at least 15mbps with a internet cord. If your on Wi-Fi it doesn’t really work completely and you will most likely lag out of party chat or even games. But if you got over 30mbps then most of the time it will work because usually Wi-Fi will cut your internet speed in half for Xbox One.

My Xbox is wired. I’ll check with that but my phone is wifi. That’s what I checked with.
