My custom controller layout

I have always liked the default controls of the Halo games and have never found any reason to change my layout. However, I do not feel this way with Halo 4s default controller layout. So I looked at the other layouts trying to find one that suits me and I was disappointed to see that there were none that I liked. Now, I have not gotten a chance to play the game at all so I could be wrong about how these layouts would feel to me, but by looking at them I don’t see myself enjoying any of these. So I thought of my own controller layout that I would LOVE to see included in the final version of the game.

My custom controller layout:

Jump- A
Reload\Action- X
Armor Ability- B
Switch Weapons- Y
Switch Grenade Type- D-Pad
Melee- RB
Shoot- RT
Sprint- LB
Throw Grenade- LT
Movement/Crouch- LS
Aim/Zoom- RS

This is the perfect button layout for me and again I would love to see this in the final version of the game (or a button layout editor). I would also appreciate your thoughts on my layout and for you to post your own in the comments.

im sticking to watever is on the Default for 4. Hopefully the button layouts are the same as the one in reach.

Why would you want sprint to be at your index finger when it’s toggle, instead of armor abilities which some you need to hold to use. In my opinion sprint works best on a face button because you don’t need to press it split second in combat. I consider it a lower priority than armor abilities.

Wow you make a valid point, I did not even consider the fact that some AAs require you to hold the button down which makes you unable to aim. I also did not consider that sprint could be toggle.

I hope 343 will allow players to fully customize their button layout. I have a feeling they won’t however considering it’s never been done in a Halo game before.
