I’ve just started playing and despite a pretty good K/D ratio and coming high in my teams standing on Big Team i find my CSR to be pretty much stuck on 4… Like i’m not claiming to be a God like player but i never seem to be rewarded for preforming well. I’ve been playing for 2 days and jumped from 1 to 4 on the first day and since then nothing. Is this right?

Each playlist uses one of two types of CSR: Individual CSR and win/loss CSR. Big Team Slayer/Big Team Battle uses individual CSR.
Individual CSR is based on score, not K/D, regardless of whether you were on the winning or losing team.

- If you score lower than players who have a lower CSR than you, you will rank down.
- If you score higher than players who have a lower CSR than you and lower than players who have a higher CSR than you, you will stay the same.
After 10-15 games, individual CSR should give you a pretty good indication of where you stand.
Also keep in mind that CSR is always a game behind.
So does that mean my current CSR 3/4 is roughly what i’ll stay at? I’m not an amazing player but staying at 3 is very low…i was around 35 in halo 3 when i left… the whole thing has me confused. bring back ranked and social i say

To be fair you haven’t really played that much yet(14h), just give it some time and you should rank up as long as you’re at the top of the score board.
I forgot to mention that quits treat you as the lowest-scoring player in the game, and players who join in progress are treated as if they played the entire match. So if you’re aiming for the highest possible CSR, you need to play your games all the way through and avoid joining in progress.
I find it very difficult to rank up in Big Team matches because Halo is so dependent on teamwork. If you can’t depend on your team to help you control certain parts of the map, even if you’re better than any one person in the match, you can’t always take on an entire 8-person team by yourself. That’s why I don’t play Big Team.
Still find it strange on this point system… i was always coming mid table with something like 15 kills but would always aim for a low K/D count… is that where i was going wrong, still don’t get why players should get rewarded for getting a high point total and going minus in the K/D ratio. Madness
They need to make every team based playlist “Team CSR”
Why is Infinity Slayer individual? Thats ridiculous.
Anything thats 2v2 or 3v3 or more should be “Team”
Its not right to have to go against your teamates to get your CSR ranks up.

Be patient and continue to play as well as you can. Vector0 and Bellsten are correct. You need to amass some history for CSR to correctly gauge your skill level.
99% of my matches(over a thousand) are big team and ranking up has been difficult for me as well. I just enjoy Big Team(usually) and am not so concerned with my CSR score as having fun. That’s not to say you can’t have fun playing another playlist. I find Big Team more laid back that’s all. But everything that Vector0 told you is true. Big Team seems to have a lot of randoms that are bad and if you have several on your team it could be a long day in the trenches.
However, if your serious about this game and want a challenge get with the Slayer Pro guys. They are hands down the best players in this game. They are a smaller community than Infinity Slayer Players but as far as game knowledge, tactics, weapons, and skill there are NO equals. Throw a post out about needing some direction and you will get a decent response from those that are on the forums.

I’ve got it now, i wasn’t playing by the system… as long as i finish near top of the leader board i rank up regardless of K/d ratio (keeping a clean sheet isn’t for me now)
Where can i find slayer pro? is that in the Team Throwdown playlist? (only seems to have 24 players tiny)

Trust me. Start a new post with something like “Need help from Slayer Pro players”.
They play a more classical style that closely resembles what you played over on H3. You’ll get responses. Most of them play in custom games so you won’t necessarily see them in the playlist your referencing. Send a message to Vector0. I believe he plays with some of those guys.
