Let me help you.
Okay so what can I say then? Since you flag me for not being constructive when I was! You want the Truth?
I am a game developer and belong to a big community of game developers and probably one of the Biggest fans of the “Halo Franchise” The problem isn’t me.
Here is my constructive criticism again:
Go back and look at Halo 2 and 3 and look at what made those games great! It isn’t hard 343.
Things Halo should have kept:
- Coop 4 player split screen
- Playable Elites
- Fun stuff like Dual Wielding
- Story that makes sense and isn’t jumping around like what Halo 5 did.
- Marty O’donnell bring him back for the music. Marty has talked about wanting to help but has not heard anything from 343.
Things I see you making correct stuff on was bringing back Joe Staten! and some of the music choices.
That is about it really.
If you want me to leave just ask. No need to ban me for giving criticism or voicing my opinion. Sadly most the people I talk to or in game design are simply not saying good things. Truth Hurts.
This isnt really constructive as you not only talk down to 343 with lines like “Go back and look at Halo 2 and 3 and look at what made those games great! It isn’t hard 343.” but you also fail to explain why any of those points were the reasons H2 and H3 are considered great for their time.
Both points 2 and 3 have very real negative consequences that plagued both of those games (h2’s weapon balancing was a mess).
Point 4 also really does not adequately point out the issues with h5’s story structure. The story 100% had issues, but listing them and then explaining each one and how to improve it is how constructive criticism works.
Point 5, again, does not add anything. As much as I love Marty’s work, I also don’t think he is required for anything. From what we have seen, the current composers are doing a fantastic job at creating a Halo score (IMO).
Also, if you have to say “the problem isnt me,” 9/10 it usually is.

Sorry if you get that I am talking down to them. Just trying to explain what most people are saying and developers.
If Halo 2 and 3 were so bad. Then I wonder why most people say those are the best games of the series.
The Reason for Halo 2’s problems was the game being rushed out. sound familiar?
I said the music was being done well so far. But to replace Marty would be like replacing “John Williams” from Star Wars.
Not saying I am the problem = I go around and talk with developers and other gamers and get what would make something like Halo fun.
- Co op splitscreen is something that should be added but it doesn’t have to be 4 player. 2 player is fine.
- Playable Elites does not change anything for the majority of players. There are plenty of people who are happy they are not in.
- Dual Wielding is a good idea. Again, not a game changer for me.
- The story has been addressed numerous times and will be way better than Halo 5.
- Music has been okay from what we’ve heard so far. And some of my favourite songs in the franchise are in Halo 4.
I think nostalgia of the “good old days” of H2/3 is a toxic mindset to have. I hope you enjoy infinite man

As someone with my share of skepticisms of the upcoming game, I agree the conversation a lot more nuanced than the thread lets on and is not being fair to 343. For example, I think the first point is genuinely solid and there should 100% be split screen and I think that request is far less controversial than the rest.
Although IIRC 343 already announced infinite will have split screen so it seem especially unfair to include that when it’s already being considered, and infinite is being presented as a throwback to the bungie days so if these are the big asks of the thread then it would only be fair to give 343 some credit.
…I still want those elites tho; balance be -Yoink!-!

Good post! But sadly I would have to totally disagree.
If you actually go around and talking to halo fans and developers they think by removing certain elements in a game,
actually hurts it! Unless you can give me some other video game examples where Removing choices made the sequels to a video game better!
Seriously as someone who has played too many video games. I really cannot think of any which this was a good idea!
I know some people just only care about Master Chief and just want the game out and think if they take on the stance of having to add things back into the game. Makes it so they have to wait longer. I get it
"Although IIRC 343 already announced infinite will have split screen so it seem especially unfair to include that when it’s already being considered, and infinite is being presented as a throwback to the bungie days so if these are the big asks of the thread then it would only be fair to give 343 some credit.

Personally for me I won’t believe it until I see gameplay of it. Many video game companies have done this where they say “we will have this and even will show fake gameplay of said features” (When it was a CGI movie) Anthem great example. Then when the game comes out the feature is removed or changed where it isn’t that great like the previous games.
Here is hoping this feature you like is in the game.
Concerning Elites in Halo 2 multiplayer I reached level 50 as an Elite.
If anything I saw it more of a disadvantage and me being a bigger target.

You cant say most are saying anything. Just like I can’t say most are saying 343 is doing a great job.
> If Halo 2 and 3 were so bad.
Nowhere did I say this
> The Reason for Halo 2’s problems was the game being rushed out. sound familiar?
That played a role in it yes, though H3 also has major weapon balance issues and that’s not a result of “rushed” development
> I said the music was being done well so far. But to replace Marty would be like replacing “John Williams” from Star Wars.
One person doesn’t define a series of music. Halo Wars has great Halo music, HW2 has great Halo music. H4 has some great tracks in it (not the entire thing). H5 has some great music on its own but still is forgettable given the use of it. Marty is not required for anything so I find his inclusion in your list of things that are required to make infinite great weird.
> Not saying I am the problem = I go around and talk with developers and other gamers and get what would make something like Halo fun.
You can do that and still relay the information/points in a way that makes you the issue in a discussion. As I mentioned, the tone of the feedback given goes a long way, as do the contents of what is provided. Appealing to authority does not do much on a forum given there is no way to validate that authority. The only way to give people and 343 confidence in your feedback is thoughtful discussion on why those are good, why they should be included, how they should be included etc. Saying “im a dev and I talk to Devs so these though be there cause 2 and 3 are great” isnt a way to provide feedback.

Thank you for thoroughly debunking OP’s nonsense.
There’s nothing constructive about this
