Greetings, ill cut to the chase, essentially i think we are all fairly pleased with the way the MCC passes were done but we do need to accept this time around it has been confirmed the halo infinite passes will be paid for but will not expire.
My concern is, why 343 have not gone into detail with HOW we will be able to cosmetics for free, as well as explaining the other additional paid for content they discussed besides battle passes. essentially what im thinking they will do is players will be able to earn the content in the battle passes for free but the REAL good stuff will be exclusive and limited meaning its only for sale for a limited time and will never appear again. Something people really like such as the halo 3 style recon for example.
I’m really hoping this is not the case but I can think of no other reason the battle passes do not expire and how 343 will incentivize players to purchase content in addition to battle passes. Hoping to be proven wrong on this.

I think what they’ve revealed so far is pretty high level and they’re not ready to go into detail yet, but you probably do have a valid concern. Every battle pass I know of now has “free” content but then the paid one has even more, which is pretty standard to expect. I do think it would be rather shady to put the paid stuff on a timer, especially with what they’ve communicated so far.
Cautious optimism is what I am practicing for now, but I expect there will be some sort of actual paywall for some cosmetics. Hopefully, just not for the ones I want.

I’m assuming that the paid battle passes are to encourage those who are free to play to spend money into the company as well as hopefully buy the full game (maybe there could be some sort of battle pass you get when buying the game)
i dont think that there will be any content you can miss out on since you can also go back and purchase old passes as well, as far as the free content I remember they did mention some customization content is unlocked through gameplay so im guessing the old school way, thinkning back to halo 3 or halo reach.
At least I hope so, id love to be able to unlock armor by completing the campaign on legendary

Mmm exclusive content is a big sell these days idk

that’s true, i do kinda hope there will be some time limited content or something like recon but we’ll have to wait and see
I don’t think you’re gonna get much if any limited time content. They said themselves, they don’t like FOMO. So whether it’s content that is in the battle pass or on a rotation, I feel like it’ll come around periodically.
And of course the good cosmetics will be behind the paywall. That’s how they incentivize the purchase. Good news is you don’t have to buy it if you don’t want.
There will still be content to unlock via gameplay, challenges, achievements, etc but there will be without a doubt “cool” content behind the paid battle pass. Of course cool is subjective but they have to make money.
And I don’t hate it at all. It is the compromise to pay for having a F2P MP and no game altering content or advantages. They have to recoup losses/fund future content some how.

Oh no, I might have to pay like $20 on a free game to get an optional battle pass!
They’ve already gone into detail about that. There will be a natural progression through the game, you’ll unlock some items via xp and other items by doing challenges and such. No shizno the good stuff is gonna be behind the battle pass, that’s why it exists lol. If you’re broke or something bro hit me up and i’ll buy it for you if that’s a concern.
It should also be noted that Halo infintie battle pass has no expiry. Only super special things like the Yoroi armor are limited time.

Battlepass content and purchasable store items will probably be seperate given the comment they stated that someone cant just buy an item you earned via battlepass.
It probably unlocks similar to MCC (but hopefully without the stupid 100-level cap nonsense) wherein you get points via levels up and completing daily, weekly, monthly et cetera challenges.
Its also one of those situations where you dont have to buy anything whatsoever and you’ll probably still earn some stuff along the way. I doubt the entire cosmetic selection is earnable only from battlepass and in game stores. That would cause an outrage and we Halo fans love being mad as is.
The battle pass sounds pretty great to me actually, what I’m worried about is the store. They said items would only be unlockable one way, meaning items you get from playing/battle pass can’t just be bought from the store to circumvent it. However, this goes both ways. That also means items in the store can only be purchased and, since they’re not a part of the battle pass, they can make them exclusive timed offerings without technically having lied.

Yoroi armour is earned free in season one called “Heroes of Reach”, where did you read it was limited.

It was stated by Unyshek that the armor was earned via one of the events during Season 1. That by nature implies specific, limited time acquisition. An assumption but a safe one. Its not part of the pass

The only thing that’s been confirmed to not expire as far as I know is the battle pass. Reading between the lines, this could mean items in the store or special items not tied to the battle pass could be limited. Granted, since the information we have is limited, this could just as likely not be the case and nothing ever expires. But I think it’s a good idea for now to just assume things from the battle pass are the only items that never expire so as not to be let down when we learn more.

Yup, and the season passes are permanent. Or is this the start of things like FOMO ? The very thing they said they didn’t want to create, or words to that effect. What’s the point of permanent season passes if there’s time limited content ?
I have seen plenty of battle passes in a lot of games etc, for all of the information we’ve received so far I’m very pleased with their direction for unlock-able content.
343 have already shown they care by allowing us access to the battle pass forever once it’s purchased. I’m not expecting much “shady” business from them as the MCC battle pass works extremely well already.
The multiplayer is already free so paying for a battle pass for cosmetics is a fantastic deal for us in my opinion. I’m 100% buying whatever comes in Infinite though haha, gotta have it ALL!!!

Maybe to reward dedicated players? Idk. We haven’t played the game yet so nothing is for sure anyway
The battlepass is the single most concerning thing about Halo Infinite. Really wish they’d go more in depth about how customization unlocks will work and how the battlepass will work with the other unlock methods. (if there are other unlock methods…)
