My changes for halo 6 multiplayer

Halo 5’s multiplayer in my opinion is really good. They brought back the competitive side of halo and I love it, but I think we can all agree it’s not perfect and these are the changes I’d like to see.

Speed up the strafe. Halo 5 depends on who shoots first too much as opposed to gun skill. This would help

Leave sprint in, but make it exclusive to bigger games such as warzone and btb. 343 has to adjust the size of the maps to accommodate sprint and took out those close range gun battles that was an icon for halo. This by extension also takes Spartan charge out of these modes

I’m fine with smart link, but take out the boosts to accuracy and range with weapons when they are scoped. The weapons should perform the same whether they are scoped or not.

Tone down the range of the autos just slightly

Slow down the projectiles of plasma based weapons. The storm rifle and plasma pistol are far too easy to use and are borderline power weapons.

Make the br projectile again. It’s too easy to use or at the very least lower the magnetism or aim assist.

Lower descoped aim assist on the dmr. It’s supposed to be a long range rifle. Right now it’s just a better pistol

Tone down on the corridor and bridge maps such as overgrowth and riptide. They are far too close quarters and promote too much auto use and camping. Keep a variety. It’d be unfair to say to get rid of them altogether because they are different and variety is good, but it’s not good to make most of your maps like this.

Accomodate the social crowd. This includes making dev built btb maps and maybe a few memorable social maps that aren’t persay balanced, but fun. Last resort and high ground come to mind. As I said, I love that you’re trying to bring back the competitive side, but people like to relax and you’ll bring in new players that could get hooked for life by having both casual and competitive.

Bring back military ranks. Your copy and paste league of legends ranking system isn’t fun, inspiring, and isn’t halo. Halo dug it’s roots in being a military sci-fi shooter. This carried over into multiplayer, especially halo 3. The ranks felt real and I really wanted to get my 50 so I could be a general. In halo 5 onyx and champ, let alone your uninspired number xp system, just doesn’t feel the same as brigadier or general

As an extension I’d like the 1-50 ranks brought back. It had its problems, but after all these years I’m sure you can fix the boosting that was rampant, and its not like it’s any different in halo 5. Smurfs and boosting in this game is almost just as bad as halo 3.

I’m fine with other Spartan abilities. I actually like how thruster, clamber, and ground pound changed the game. They aren’t unbalanced and really increase the fluidity of the game.

Most of the guns are fine in my opinion. For once in halo’s life span every gun is useful. The pistol is amazing. It’s just you need to work on the aforementioned problems.

These are my opinions of course and if anyone agrees or disagrees please share.

anything can be constructive depending on how you look at it. what you need to realize is that not everyone is totally thrilled with halo 5. on top of which you had halo, 4 and MCC. all these games by 343 industires came with thier own set of problems. they werent small bugs and glithches that could be fixed with a patch either… now smurfing is not necessarilty 343’s fault as it has existed for a while. but i’ve been a customer on xbox for quite a while and ive never seen the mass amounts of smurf accounts like i do now.
so here are some of the biggets issues…
[Halo 5] - poor matching, contant playlist and map change.
[Halo 4] - weapon imbalances, lack luster servers (h4 is one of my fav. halos)
[Halo MCC] - no ranked play, poor playlist options, lack of support (<1 year)
so yes, if halo 6 is released i dont plan on buying it as of now. i may wait until a friend does and borrow their copy to see how it works. but even if its good at first, so was halo 5 and then halo 5 gradually got worse and worse. when H5 was first realeased i enjoyed the game so much more than i do currently. The updates and changes that were made to the game i did not enjoy. in the end this is just my opinion of the game, some will agree others will not. but you asked what changes need to be made for H6, i gave you the biggests - the consumer need to open their eyes and change and stop settling for lack - luster games… and it’s not just halo.

This is an idea I’ve been considering lately. I think it’s a great idea too. I would maybe even keep it out of BTB. But that’s probably just my personal preference. I do think it’s fine for Warzone though since the maps are quite expansive. I would love for arena to become a no-sprint zone again.

This is another point that I like. I have to admit that I don’t care about my playlist ranks in Halo 5. They’re just going to reset so I just say “Why bother?” The only rank I care about is my 1 - 152 Rank since it’s something I work for. Sure it doesn’t represent my actual skill but at least I know it’s not going to reset on me. I just wish it wasn’t just some meaningless number and was an actual military rank.

I think a good compromise would be to have the playlist ranks based on skill and have them NOT RESET. Then they can keep the 1 to 152 rank more casual and based on total XP and play time rather than skill. I would love the 1 to 152 ranks to have the rank names from Reach personally.

I would keep it out of BTB and Warzone as well. Give vehicles a reason to exist again. Bring back teleporters and/or mancannons.

Ideally, I would like to see sprint gone from future Halo games entirely. But, if it really must be shoved into the games, let it be an option people can turn on for customs only or something. Do like they’ve done to the classic Halo fans in Halo 5 where the engine supports sprint or no-sprint, but every single playlist option focuses only on one style of play.
