So a lot of people have been talking about how all these new Spartan abilites are going to ruin the flow of BTB and arena will end up being the only gametype worth playing. I recently came up with this idea to balance it all out- keep all the changes to gameplay that we saw in the beta, but ONLY for smaller gametypes (team slayer, ctf, etc.) Then, for BTB, drop those abilites and bring back halo 3 style. Halo 3 had excellent BTB gameplay because of its simple formula and pace. So if BTB is to truly survive, then let’s just send Spartans back to the days of 2007. No thruster, no gp, no charge, just simple run and gun. BTB remains a classic casual game, while arena evolves and propels halo to a new generation of gameplay. (I think 343 has the potential to preserve BTB with the changes, this is just my opinion)
That’s… Not really a solution. Just ignoring the problem. And 343 did say at one point that gameplay consistency among most modes would be observed, and BTB is hardly niche, so I doubt they’re just going to eskew the big new thing in the game for the most popular playlist there.
Why would anyone think spartan abilities would ruin BTB? If anything, they just force buffs for all the vehicles to counter the increased movement speed and agility of infantry.
Needs to be the opposite. BTB is a social playlist. For fun. The Spartan abilities won’t matter. And the way I see it, the abilities ruin competitive halo. Keep them out of ranked playlists, leave them in social
I believe consistency across the playlists is essential to H5G success. I would be infuriated if I tried to thrust or slide in BTB only to be reminded it wasnt in that particular playlist.
I think spartan abilities should be in every playlist except for one classic playlist.

…No. For Christ sakes. I don’t really play BTB too often, due to the connections of others and how much I hate the lag. But this would seriously RUIN any BTB or bigger gametype they had. I would never play it, and never even try it. This is Halo 5. Not Halo CE. It’s not Halo 2. It’s not Halo 3, It’s not Halo 4 and it’s not Halo Reach. Stop trying to incorporate the ‘good’ mechanics that was in the previous games. It’s not the same. It won’t be the same, even if they brought over your ideas. It’s NOT the old games. Ugh
I don’t think anything really needs to be done except modifying values to the point where things like ground pound are great against infantry but barely put a dent into vehicles.
Vehicle speed, damage, functionality, etc could also always be tweaked to make up for people thrusting and such.
No real special solution is required.
