My breaking point

Alright. Suppose that I can’t play for a month. And I miss the whole event even if they schedule it like the Tenrai event. Why am I being penalized for having a life? Shouldn’t they make it so no player misses out on any of these cosmetics?

it goes for 2 weeks pal

If someone misses the full 2 weeks that’s 100% on them, but if someone is on once in those 2 weeks they should be able to either: A) grind up for the amount of day they miss (if you miss 4 days you can rank up 4 times in a day). Or B) Do the whole event in a day if you choose to.

Someone already asked that same question and it was responded to.

Wait why? They’ve got a life and they just can’t commit to sitting in front of the tv for a full day. Why is it that when the event fits totally within your schedule everything is a-okay, but if someone else has more obligations than you, they’re just crap out of luck and it’s their fault for not being able to prioritize the game?

Meaning? Elaborate on what that means

Previous halo games (and plenty of other games) have given little rewards for logging on Christmas day, or independence day, or some other holiday. These are rewards for those players that did log on, not punishment for those that didn’t.

if you travel for a day or two and come back you still have time for it

yep it is just found that out myself

Again, understand that. My point is if let’s say you travel and hop online the final day, you’re unable to catch up on all you missed out on. You get 1 item per day, so you’re kinda screwed if you have travel plans or long work days etc

Stuff like that I understand, because it’s not a event that lasts. It’s a 1 day free item. That’d be dope to hop on halo on Xmas day and have a snowman helmet or Santa hat, I dunno, I just don’t see why we can’t have the ability to do as much or as little as we want in 1 day as opposed to having to hop on every single day

The dude is asking for a compromise not a total flip to his preference. Allowing the grinding which already exists in the Tenrai event is a perfectly reasonable ask.

The cosmetics ain’t worth much anyways. I wouldn’t be too disappointed.

Idk how this is an issue.
You can choose to travel. You can choose to play 1 game a day. You can choose to bring a laptop and play on it.

The news article on this is here:

https://www.halowaypoint.com/news/winter-contingency-event-launch

From the article:

'Rewards will be unlocked over time, meaning they will not all be available to grab on day one. Think of Winter Contingency like your in-game Halo advent calendar: you’ll unlock one reward each day, with the event running through the morning of January 4, 2022.

To be clear: While the daily rewards conclude on December 30, what this means is you’ll have several extra days to catch up on any items that you may have missed!’

In my mind it is exactly the same thing we have here, only this would be a one day event. Winter Contingency is just a longer version of it, and actually gives a few make up days.

Dude, you’re not being penalized. Sometimes you just can’t have everything you want whenever you want it. That’s life, buddy. It’ll be okay.

Congratulations. You walked headfirst into the point I was making and still didn’t see it.

I just find it funny someone who has a wife, kids and a job in a hospital loses their :poop: and reaches their final straw because they will miss out on a colour and accessories for a computer game.

Don’t get me wrong, my Mrs always says “stop stressing it’s a kid’s game” and I wish locking your wife in a cage was still an acceptable practice but seriously - it’s funny isn’t it. Grown men reaching their breaking point because ‘my Spartan won’t look as good as yours’.

Regarding cosmetics - who are you showing off to anyway? This whole microtransaction BS. You’re paying an amount that is anything but micro (I know this event is free but in general) to colour and accessorise but you’ll be covered in a blinding outline and shield animation during the game, post game everyone will be going for a :poop: or making a :coffee:.

Literally the only time anyone will see you is during the opening scene where you’re just dribbling over yourself anyway and most people use that opportunity to see the list of players to pray a full team has turned up.

Just enjoy Christmas and make sure your kids enjoy it, no-one cares what you Spartan looks like, no-one even has the opportunity to see it.
