My analysis of Halo 5's Prometheans

In my opinion, the Prometheans especially in Halo 5 are designed similarly to the Covenant. To prove my point, I will list the traits a certain Promethean unit and its Covenant equal both share.
1.Knight/Hunter- Both are the largest, most heavily, armored unit in their respective factions, are best defeated by firing at their weak spots, utilize heavy weaponry, and both have a deadly melee attack at their disposal.
2. Crawlers/Grunts- Both appear in high numbers in their respective factions, have relatively low health, and both can be easily killed with one shot to the head.
3. Soldiers/Elites- Both are classed into different ranks and roles, use evasive maneuvers, and can be killed with one shot to the head once the armor/shield breaks.
How are the Prometheans made different from the Covenant? Well, there are three major differences. 1. Prometheans move way faster than the Covenant, and 2. Prometheans teleport into battle rather than drop in from a dropship. 3. More units use weapons where the rounds home in on the user’s target. In my opinion, without these unique traits the Prometheans have, they are nothing more but a re-skin of the Covenant. With that said, in my opinion, it seems that what makes the Prometheans different from the Covenant is causing their unpopularity with the community.

The biggest problems are…

1: The Soldiers are far too bullet-spongey for their size. It’s just plain silly. Couple that with their break-apart-shift-elsewhere stuff, and they’re tedious to fight.
2: They can just flat out come up anywhere. The Covenant had to come in via dropship, but these guys can teleport onto anywhere in the battlefield. It’s -Yoink!- irritating to get a “Defend” objective, to be pushed out by Promethean units spawning out of your rear end.

They’re much more fun to fight than they were in Halo 4, but they’re still not very fun to fight or all that memorable. They’re just a mass of metal and hard light. Yes, there’s more to it but the layman doesn’t care.

Thing is, the layman will remember the distinct differences between every single one of the primary Covenant units. It’s also, to echo latenightgaming, inconceivable that most of these constructs were designed to fight the Flood.

I like the Prometheans, they give more of challenge compared to the covonent.

This is my only complaint about the Prometheans.
