my aim problem

I have a bad feeling with the aim system. If i play Halo 2 anniversary, or H2 classic, but also the Halo anniversary playlist in H5 i usually do perfect kills… in H5, specially with magnum, i have some problems to make fast all headshots, my aim is more inaccurate… it’s like as there is many less auto-aim…

so, i was wondering, what has changed in the aim system, compared to the previous halo?

I feel like there is significantly less auto-aim in this game than previous games by far. It’s part of the reason I never use the magnum because I am complete garbage with it lol. They mucked around with the BR a few times and it went from really good to horribly difficult to use. I’m slowly getting used to it but it’s tough. Not just you man.

If there is less auto aim idk that be nice haha.
it just might be the gameplay in the old halos it was all slow gameplay therefore it was easy to shoot a slow target.
halo 5 on the other hand is fast gameplay for the most part. Which might be why your aim isn’t as good.

To be the fair the BR went from the an op god tier gun to just being good now. Except for after the weapon tuning. I personally didn’t hate it that much but the was an uproar with what they did to it which led to the BR we have now

The network and servers this game is hosted on is trash too so combine that with an inconsistent weapon and you won’t find much success unless you live right close to a server. With a poor connection your best bet is to shoot at the stomach, the game sucks enough that it will often register a stomach shot as a head shot but if you aim directly at the head like you would in old halo games it might register as a miss because of the poor connection even though what you see on your screen is a perfect shot.

Its seems like H5s aim is tied with connection to the server. Or how well one is connected to the server. Or what mood the server is in…lol. This will drastically effect the aim in h5. My only advice would be to set your sensitivity down really low and bring it back up to something somewhat manageable. Good luck!

My trick is to set the sensitivity to 4 and acceleration to 3

I have been playing since H2. I can say H5 is the first Halo I really had to dial in a look sensitivity and aim acceleration. In past titles I would just usually use default or maybe turn just the look acceleration up maybe one number and that was it. H5 seems more sensitive or something. So don’t be afraid to mess with the settings.

It feels like they increased bullet magnetism, but decreased aim assist.

Yeah they did in a sense because they use that hit scan now instead of projectile.

no, i don’t think…

If i use H2 BR in H5, or the Anniversary Throwback magnum, i have not any problem… i think that H5 magnum has much less auto-aim…

I remember also that there is a difference with the past when you move the aim up/down/left/right or diagonal…

i think that 343 wanted to have precision weapons (Magnum especially, but also BR, DMR, Lightrifle ecc) more hard to use, and automatic weapons (ar, smg, stormrifle ecc) more powerful…

but… i don’t like all this…

My aim got really comfortable when I switched it to one thing or another using the “switch settings button on my elite controller. At one point the best thing was either a delayed or smooth setting, both with radial calculation. One slows down the crosshairs and stops it from flinging to one side or the other. The other smoothened the movement of my cross hair.
Either way… that setting just switches off all the sudden. And then I slowly move the crosshair and it wouldn’t react until it was really far from the center, at which point the crosshair moved way too fast.
Also when I type, it stopped capitalizing the first letter of a sentence - usually that’s automatic. It’s usually really difficult to make the first letter of a sentence not capitalized. It’s never been that easy in my life. Wow.
Then also “crosshair” auto-corrects to “crosshairs” with an “s”. So all the sudden my phone thinks “crosshair” is only a word when there’s an “s” at the end.
Basically, technology is run by sociopathic control-freaks and a day of fun with Halo, or at all, is few and far between, once you get to a certain age.
Who knows maybe they’ll fix things one day.
