So I was curious to see Halo Infinite’s viewership on Youtube in terms of trailers and such and deep dives.
As of right now on the official Call of Duty channel, Just the teaser trailer itself sits at 7 million views. That’s not even to say how the game will perform at launch, whether it’ll suck or not. But the point here is that the teaser is blowing anything 343 have released for Infinite in terms of trailers. deep dives, or even overviews out of the park. Competition aside, being an aspiring game developer in school right now, this would frankly scare the hell out of me knowing what state my game was in. Keep in mind I’m not jumping the gun or coming to any conclusions, sure the teaser is to build hype BUT the teaser is garnering more attention then Infinite ever could back when its hype began. The difference is enormous in my opinion.
Because heres the other thing, as I said, whether the MP for MW2 is great or not at launch is all a matter of opinion. It could shine, or sink like Vanguard. But if it does shine, Infinit’es population is already not that great on Steam, maybe on Xbox but not on Steam. If it’s a breath of fresh air from the state Infinite is in right now or even BF2042’s broken state, it could take some population from Infinite, seeing as its highly likely that MW2 will release completed.
So that being said, with Infinite already being in a weak state, and population on a decline, this just might get the suits at Microsoft to look at 343 and be like You ought to get to work and fix this if Infinites population declines any more once MW2 launches.
Because remember that right now, Infinit’es MP is monetization heavy, still doesn’t have Forge till later in the year, Co-Op is only going into flighting later on. Infinite is even still lacking on game modes even though quite a few have been added. Whats a fully launched and complete game like MW2 with campaign, campaign co-op at launch and likely completed MP going to do to a broken game like Infinite being a competitior?
I’m just saying, it doesn’t look good and if the Xbox Games Showcase shows mutliplayer, can’t say I won’t be playing that over Infinite or that a lot of other Halo fans won’t be playing it as well.
It’s fine, there are a few fire extinguishers on the walls of some of the mp maps
With cod games coming out more often than a hunter in rabbit season, it’s not really crossed my mind, vanguard was a flop for sure, MW2 could go either way, but makes no difference to me, I’ll still be on Infinite or mcc regardless
Halo Infinite won awards over beating out Battlefield 2042 and COD Vanguard. At the time it seemed like Halo was on top. Instead, it was more like it was the most finished out of the three. But the COD caught up and surpassed. And as time went on Halo Infinite lost its luster. Halo Infinite was in the best position to carry its momentum forward, and instead it got squandered for what will be a year. If beating out Battlefield and COD at the gate didn’t set a fire under 343 to keep the ball rolling, I doubt the next COD game will do it.
As someone who buys every halo, battlefield and cod on release, love them all the last 2 cods have been broken messes so i know alot of people who have watched the trailers but wont buy it due to the last 2 being so bad
I dropped off after ghosts and found little reason to go back into the series. I got BO3 for zombies, I was unimpressed and haven’t touched the series at all. The new one does look like they are finally improving alot of issues I had even back then, but I am still keeping my distance until after the break.
This is where 343 is taking Halo now … down that same road of mistrust, the legacy of Halo has been battered. I wouldn’t doubt it if Halo Infinite has been outsourced to some other company to maintain it, there are way too many problems with this game and nothing is being fixed, it’s coming apart at the seams.
For a company like Microsoft, this is not acceptable. Why do I say coming apart at the seams … I just played a bunch of matches and I witnessed glitches that I have never seen before, bugs so bad I’m still laughing out of pure shock.
The only reason people are willing to play Halo is there are so many more dumpster fire games just like it and worse … so pick the mess you want to play.
Well considering Infinite launched in the same period as Vanguard and BF 2042 and THE 3 GAMES WERE UNDERWHELMING and just because Infinite was the strongest in terms of gameplay until we all realized how barebones it is. If it had launched back in 2019 competing against MW2019, Infinite would have got crushed imo

I would rather spend my money in the MW2 Vault edition instead of the stuff in Inifinite store
So yeah , 343 better step their game up if they want Infinite to survive MW2-022
