Is there any way to view the player list in the pre-game lobby and mute people who you don’t want to hear? I’ve been getting into a lot of lobbies recently with people blaring music into their mics (which doesn’t bode well for those of us who have gaming headsets) or people using their kinects as mics so you can hear all the background noise in their house (crying babies, complaining wives/mothers, etc.) Is there any way to make it so I don’t have to wait until the game starts to mute these people? I don’t want to mute everyone in the process. If there isn’t a way to do this, 343, you need to work on that.
I wish, getting sick of hearing loud -Yoink- music or screaming children over the mic. Then having to wait until the game starts to actually mute people.
Bump, heres hoping they implement this feature as well. previous halos had this so theres no “revolutionizing” needed, it already existed.
I hope that they both let us mute people in the lobby and they add the “speaking” icon in the score menu. Right now, to know who is talking during a match, you have to look at the bottom right corner, right on top of the score, but if you hold the back button to mute them, the icon doesn’t show up properly.
So much this. Sometimes I just saddle up to have some fun and play some games and not get all “tactical strategy.” I don’t need to hear the only three people with mics complain about nonsense. Just a global on/off for hearing players in MP would be great (team chatter seems to control nothing).
I find that the mute feature isn’t guaranteed feature to work either. Lately my mute button does nothing…very annoying…
Yes I am fed up of hearing gaming DJ’s and kids screaming down their mic(I don’t mean kids in general I mean the ones who constantly shout down the mic)

Would be nice if they add a option in the set -up to set chat default to either on or off at the start. That way if you want to heard team chat you could just set it the way you like, you could always switch it as normal while playing ?
Please please please let us mute players in the lobby. Also, fix in-game mute as it does not always work. Stopped playing today because i was so annoyed for this very reason. Basic level programming here guys. Pathetic

Interesting. When you press the back button in game to view the scoreboard, there are a bunch of options on the bottom choosing which chat (party or game) you want to be in. It might have something to do with that? Otherwise I’d check your settings in Halo.
