Put simply, there needs to be a “mute all by default” setting in Halo 5’s audio menu. Just about every other match I’m immediately greeted with:
sklfaszdl;fbaersdj;fl lga;eubgfasd’;bflg;jgba;sldbgjkawsdmnbgjaksbdkglb
… and it drives me crazy. I can’t even turn it off until the match starts. EVEN WORSE is that sometimes the “mute all” button won’t even work. I don’t know what causes this glitch, but it certain ruins the whole experience for me. Why the “mute” option isn’t a default setting is beyond me.
There’s a lot of -Yoink- that needs to be fixed in the UI lobbies. Mute options in pre-game lobby is one of them. Obviously it’s too challenging for 343 to have a speaker icon show up alongside the player’s name so they can be muted. SMH.
There should also be a select all/sell all option with REQs.
Just can’t tell if 343 is too incompetent, lazy or both to not provide basic features/functionality in H5.

My guess is that they wanted to encourage people to talk to each other. But that’s a whole “Horse to Water” there. On the rare occasions I do use a mic, nobody ever talks back. The best I can do is watch what my mic picks up and give one-sided feedback to my teammates.
