Mute Ban Question

So can you tell if you’ve been auto-muted, or is it something that only the people you’re playing with can see? Because I seem to be on a mute ban, according to one of my friends, and if I am, how long do they generally last? I’m asking as a victim of idiots abusing this highly abuse-able mechanic, seeing as I don’t even have a mic (mine died, haven’t had cash money for a new one). Why are you even able to mute people without mics?

Edit: Also, thread number 4500.

Mute bans I believe last a few months. And you’re either lying about having a mic or just the unfortunate victim of these so called abusers. I’ve played thousands of games without talking to anyone and Im not mute banned, so I get the impression you’re lying and really annoying.

I don’t really see the point in lying on the internet. But if you think I’m lying that’s fine too. I’m not even sure if I’m actually mute banned, since the friend that told me was sitting really far from a small TV and could have just been seeing things, like the “Xbox Live Party” bubble that replaces my usual lack of a mic icon as a mute symbol. What playlists do you usually play on? That’s probably a huge factor, considering I’ve been playing A LOT of Grifball and Living Dead lately, and those tend to be full of total jerks whenever I get on.

Anyway, thank you fr the information; suppose I’ll hold off on buying that new mic.
