Must watch: Bravo, Shibby & Dmaq on H4

This video is awesome, watch it and share it!

What goes on in it? I’m in a Skype call at the moment.

Its kind of an interview… no game-play at least if that’s what you were expecting like myself x_x

Glad to see some MLG people who have some faith in halo still

Looking forward to it every day now

While I understand they want the default game to be tournament ready there is absolutely no reason that tournament play can’t be ready for the default game.

It’s a double edge sword argument.

I’d prefer MLG to integrate more aspects of play into competitive settings. What is wrong with a vehicle and mid-large maps with objectives?

What was ever wrong with the brute shot or vehicles or no spawn trapping etc.

It’s subject about what is competitive. I agree with their settings for faster, more damage, lesser grenades, effective strafe, effective team work, return solo gameplay too. All that is good but removal of vehicles, equipment, AA’s, sandbox weapons, no radar etc are the exact reasons I don’t play MLG.

I also don’t want to have to train with a team to compete at high level of ranked play. That is a major difference between MLG and default if you ask me. It’s another layer why I prefer casual competitive ranked play to say MLG settings.

They deserve their own MLG playlist but making the default game their way would lead to a collapse of matchmaking and population but promote MLG. Doing it 343i’s way will promote the wider default matchmaking and cater with MLG playlist(s) for that sub-community.

If MLG want to bridge the gap between casual and competitive then they have to take things on themselves not just the developer or casuals.

In Halo 3, the Brute Shot was removed because you could escape maps with it.

As long as they dont take out all the weapons im happy. I was really competitive in H2, h3 somewhat~ and haven’t been since reach.

They’re saying the entire video that they want to try and experiment with the default settings and see if it works. It comes to a point though where 5-6 figures of cash is on the line at these events, and therefor MLG spends tons and tons of time adjusting settings to make the game as even, balanced, and skillful as possible so that the best team wins. There is little to no room for unpredictability and randomness in MLG settings because of this. I wish people would take this into account more.

Having the game be more competitive out of the box doesnt ruin matchmaking either, see halo 3’s population 2 years after release to reach’s at this point. Much much less needed to be taken out of H3 to be competitive than reach.

You think people would want to compete/spectate halo with Armor Lock in it? Or the magnet rifle a.k.a assault rifle.

Doesn’t work.

I’m glad MLG is looking to work with more of the sandbox, it may actually get me interest in their gametypes, I haven’t really liked MLG in Halo 2, 3 or Reach for my previously stated reasons.

Regarding Halo 3 they were missing equipment, many maps, weapons and vehicles, so it’s really not a good comparison putting that argument forward. A lot was removed from Halo 3 as well.

Like I said I agree with a fair amount of MLG changes, things like removal of Armour Lock or Jetpack on certain maps, more damage, faster speed etc.

Although I tried watching MLG in Halo 3 & Reach I found it too boring to be honest. If they included more of the default game for assets like vehicles, radar and the new AA’s etc then I probably would participate more or watch more.

The fact remains MLG has been in decline since the tail end of Halo 3, perhaps it’s time MLG took a note from developers and try to attract a wider setting or demographic or casual etc while retaining their roots and balances in competitive play?
