MUST READ NEW IDEAS FOR HALO 4 MULTIPLAYER

Here is a list of various things I think 343 Industries should include into Halo 4 within the next 2-6 months. I chose 2-6 months because within the next month is too soon due to other problems they are addressing and after 6 months is really just too long from now to be mentioned with topics such as these.

The first addition I think would be sweet for 343 Industries to add into Halo 4 has to do primarily with armor color customization. I think they should add at least 10 new colors, OR a new color system consisting of a color grid with all primary colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet). It should also include mixes (red-orange, orange-yellow, yellow-green, green-blue, blue-indigo, indigo-violet). There should then be ten shades of each primary color and mix going from lighter to darker. 343 Industries should also include JET BLACK as a color within the color grid. Steel is a cool color, but jet black is something many would think would be put into a choice of colors before steel would. Also, I, and many others I assume, find myself wishing for jet black when customizing my Spartan.

The second addition 343 Industries should include into Halo 4 is much more simple. Instead of only Primary and Secondary color choices, they should add a THIRD COLOR CHOICE so players can experiment with an even wider range of color combinations. This is something I have heard said quite a few times over the years playing Halo. If 343 Industries doesn’t want to re-create all the armor variants to add a 3rd color painting area, I have a simpler solution, this is worn by all Spartans but most visible around the torso. Under all Spartans armor is an UNDER ARMOR MESH (That’s what I’ll call it because I don’t know the real name of it) that takes on the same color as your primary color choice. I feel as if it would be the perfect nominee for becoming the 3rd color choice when players customize their Spartan’s armor color.

Another addition that I brainstormed was adding in a new game type in War Games. I haven’t come up with a name for it, so I’ll just leave that to 343 Industries. This game type consists off all game types except for one difference, the map variants are ALL FORGE MAPS FOUND IN THE FILESHARE OF PLAYERS IN THE LOBBY. This would be a fun game type for the community to enjoy for they would experience something new every game. I will leave the more in-depth details of this game type to 343 Industries. This is something many players have probably thought about, 343 Industries should also add game types such as FACEOFF, 1v1 battle played to 25. Having 1v1’s in the game doesn’t necessarily encourage boosting for gamers. It’s competitive and many players love competing in a faceoff. Boosting in Faceoff would only mess up people kill/death ratio by drawing it closer and closer to 1.00. That would happen due to the way players tend to boost, “You get 24, I get 25. Next game I get 24, you get 25” (They offset each other by going +1 one game and -1 the other). To also help prevent boosting, 343 Industries could force players to play somebody new every game so that they can’t stay in a lobby with a boosting buddy. I feel if player’s understood the concept that boosting ruins kill/death ratios and they won’t be with the same person every game, those who do boost would be encouraged not boost due to the effort it would take to do so in the game type. 343 Industries should also include TEAM DOUBLES (2v2) and TEAM TACTICAL (3v3). This last game type I’m not sure if it would work or not considering hosting issues that could occur, but if possible, 343 Industries should create a 16v16 BATTLEFIELD game type. If it doesn’t get bad connection in-game, it would be one of the most fun game types in Halo 4 I suspect.

This next idea for an addition to the game I came up with is quite simple. With the absolute max level cap being SR130, I have seen many people already at the max level. With the rank up system of 10 Spartan Ranks per Specialization, I think it would be an awesome idea to add 7 more Specializations into the game making the new level cap at SR200. I’m quite confident that 343 Industries would make their players very happy with this and 343 Industries could even put a price tag on this and it’d still be super popular. A fair price in my view would be around 800-1200 Microsoft Points. This would be a great price because it not only adds 70 Spartan Ranks to the game, it adds 7 new perks, and 7 new armor variants! What it would be missing is skins for weapons, but I thought of something very creative:
-Players would be able to unlock special grenades such as red plasma grenades, electric exploding pulse grenades, or fire exploding frag grenades.
-And/Or they could include recreational grenades like fuzz ball plasma grenades, mini dodge ball plasma grenades, confetti exploding frag grenades, mist exploding frag grenades , giant bubble (water bubble) pulse grenades, or firework pulse grenades.
*All of these grenades would of course, only be for show just as the weapon skins are. They would give no advantage in battle, they would just make it that much more fun playing Halo 4.

Some ideas of new specializations are:

-Hayabusa,(Yes from Halo 3) with the mod Ninja, this makes the player only detected by motion sensors in very close range (about half the distance they are normally detected on). When they player assassinates someone, their character uses a more ninja looking blade rather than the standard UNSC knife. (When I came up with this I also came up with something else, maybe forcing this to be the last specialization available for unlock because of this: instead of using the ninja blade like I said before, the torso armor in the Hayabusa’s armor variant would include a katana just like from the great Halo 3’s Hayabusa armor. When this chest piece is equipped, when the player assassinates someone their Spartan uses the katana!)

-Specialist, with the mod Extra Energy, players are able to use their armor abilities twice as much before they deplete. (And maybe regenerate 20% slower?)

-Infantry, with the mod Advanced Weapons, all weapons with clips have 20% more shots in their magazine, all weapons with a percentage for ammo overheat 50% slower. (50% slower overheat could encourage more use of the Storm Rifle, this perk has no effect on the plasma pistol).

-CQB, with the mod Close Quarters Master, this grants a great bonus to the player by making all melee attacks a one hit kill. (I actually am undecided whether to make it a one hit kill or make players melee twice as fast) This isn’t too much of an advantage based on the obvious fact that you have to be right up in someone’s face to do it. This perk also increases accuracy firing from the hip with automatic weapons, secondary weapons, and obvious close quarters weapons such as the shotgun or scattershot.

If you actually read through this entire article, I hope you are as excited about these new ideas as I am for I put a lot of time and effort into this list of ideas and I am really hoping for a huge response from the Community and maybe even 343 Industries themselves. I feel most, if not all of these ideas are manageable and would really improve the game. Not to mention the money 343 Industries could make off of all of this! PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTE AND LEAVE A COMMENT OF YOUR FEELINGS ABOUT THIS ARTICLE. SHARING YOUR OWN IDEAS IS ENCOURAGED!

Excellent ideas!

Thank you, if you want to help out tell your friends/ recent players about this post. THESE IDEAS COULD COME TO LIFE!

those ideas are horrible…

idea 1 and 2 were related to aesthetic customization which is fine but not exactly game changing.

idea 3 is just wishful thinking, I just don`t see it working very well.

idea 4 is just wrong, making someone pay extra cash for advantages is just stupid.

I will say I just skimmed but what I read was garbage.

Is it necessary to create another thread?

KBM bluejay- I don’t see how you couldn’t see 343 Industries putting in 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3? Team Doubles (and if I remember correctly 3v3 are called Team Tactical) were in previous Halo games. If you read through the entire thing I mention that a 16v16 is unlikely but it would be a fun experience. And it’s obvious color customizing isn’t game changing but it just makes Halo more fun for people because they have a wider range of creativity available to them. And I completely fail to see why you think it’s just wrong if 343 Industries were to charge people to raise their level cap by 70, earn 7 new armor variants, and 7 new perks. It adds on about 48 in-game hours of extra game play! If people would pay for a couple maps, I think they’d pay for that? I included my own specializations just so other people would post their own ideas and maybe 343 would use them. If you think these are garbage then that’s fine. I just don’t understand your reasoning for some of them.

I agree.
ALL of these are either EXTREMELY overpowered or completely useless. (katana assassinations? How would that benefit you?)

ands2- Katana assassinations doesn’t benefit the player at all. And it’d be the chest piece that allows you to do it by simply having a katana on your back. The katana was loved by the fans in Halo 3, if they brought it back and made it interactive in some way, that’d just practically be a fun gift from 343 Industries. And I don’t think really any of them are overpowered? You may be referring to one hit kill melee? I said it could be that or melee twice as fast. Needless to say you have to actually be in front of someone to melee them and with the perk it just gives you the advantage in close range.

How about a Team Doubles playlist???

> How about a Team Doubles playlist???

I mentioned that in my post.

Color choices: It depends on how hard-coded into the game the colors are. If they would have to add code to maps in order to support the colors and lighting…it might not be worth the effort. Especially since you would only see your colors in an FFA match since team games force your color. Jet black has been intentionally left OUT of Halo since maps have shadows and could easily render a player invisible without the use of AC. It isn’t going to be added, sorry.

Something about the colors in 4 seems a bit…off from Reach, but that is most likely due to the engine or whatever.

Gametype/Map idea: I’m not sure how well the game could handle nabbing maps from the fileshare for in-game use. It’s possible that 343 has something like that planned and it is why the file share browser stuff isn’t working a the moment, but I have no idea. The problem is that people could have modded maps or maps that are completely unfair to one side (Blue spawns with power weapons, high ground and cover while Red spawns in wide open areas) They are looking into having 2v2 and multi-team playlists in the future…so there’s that. If there’s an outcry from the public about having 1v1 as a test rotation, they might try it, but until then, probably not. Once Forge Maps are tested and added to the hoppers, everyone is able to access them anyway since the game just places the proper geometry, like it did in REACH and H3

As for the 16 v 16 idea…it would be cool, sure. But there is no WAY that lag wouldn’t be an issue unless they set up dedicated servers. Even then, if someone’s connection to the server is wonky, they might be blinking around the map. Also, no map is big enough for a battle that size. It would be extremely crowded with the maps we have now.

Specs: Any future specs would have to be free, plain and simple…especially with the bonuses you gave. I could see them having confetti grenades possibly since that effect is already in the game, but the perks…nuh-uh. It would become pay-to-win.

The ammo perk would wreck the balance of shootouts. If two people got in a shootout at the same time, with the same weapon, the person who doesn’t have to reload would always win (unless their accuracy sucks)

The CQB perk would render the boltshot even MORE powerful since the spread would be even tighter.(I personally don’t have a problem with it as-is, but many do)

Letting people use armor abilities twice as often would promote more camo camping, PV camping and so on, and if you don’t have that perk, you will get crushed.

And that is even if they are able to add more armor to the game anyway. In 3 and Reach, it was impossible due to the way armor was coded into the game. If people didn’t buy the specs, their game wouldn’t have the files to even show the armor, so they would just see a placeholder like a big red X or something. New specs would have to be included in a mandatory update for them to work, and charging people for stuff that they “already have” is a big no-no (just ask Capcom and their on-disc dlc)

I just don’t think many of your ideas will work as presented, sorry man.

Ricard Julianti- I am actually totally impressed with your technological knowledge of all this. When I made this list it was really just a senseless list of impractical Halo dreams and other things of the sort. The only thing I really thinks sucks is not being able to have jet black because of the shadows in-game. All of the specializations I really knew wouldn’t workout because I’m no expert on balancing gameplay, you know? Haha it’s all good I just kind of want to see something new you know? Maybe the ideas will trigger more ideas to the right people and the Community will see something mind-blowing soon.
