Music in multiplayer (optional)

I might get some hate for this but I think Halo 4 should borrow something from CoD and Battlefield. That something is music in multiplayer.

Now don’t get me wrong, music shouldn’t play through the whole match. The songs would get repetitive and most people would turn it off.

What I’m talking about is music triggered by certain actions or events like time running out or taking the flag. And I believe 343 said they were doing in an interview awhile back.

Marty was strictly against music in multiplayer. Well not strictly because he did put that 10 second clip into invasion whenever you would complete an objective. But that wasn’t even implemented all that well.

Here are some events that music should be out in for: killing sprees, 1 minute remaining, flag taken (different depending on if it’s your or the enemy’s), bomb armed, only 5 kills left, and if the score is really close and the match is about to end.

Already, a cool electronics song plays when only 1 minute remains that heightens the intensity. I think with killing sprees, the music should start off slow with 5 kill then speed up at 10 kills, and then turn into the Halo theme at 15 kills.

If your flag is taken, the song Ascendency should come on until you return it but a more positive beat should come on when you take the enemy flag.

In a slayer match, when the scores are really close at the end 45±45+, some really intense music should come on. Not quick paced music but very heavy. In all the past Halo games, when matches are that close at the end if the game, things get really intense and I think it would be really immersive to put in appropriate music.

Again, all of this should be optional. And again, 343 might be doing a lot of this. I just hope it doesn’t play 10 second music clips when something happened like in Reach’s invasion.

Music already plays when the match is near end.

I also believe it plays at the start?

Music should NOT play during gameplay however. I could become distracting, and it would also make it harder to hear nade, footsteps and what more there is.

It’s already in Infinity Slayer and many games have done this. Not just CoD, and does BF even music in it?

They have added things like this where if you get a killing spree, a noise triggers, and the music changes bawed on effects

> They have added things like this where if you get a killing spree, a noise triggers, and the music changes bawed on effects

Is it an actual song or is it a sound clip? Because the build I played at RTX didn’t have any music.

Music is going to play a bigger part in Halo 4 multiplayer

Maybe not in MM IMO ( But I would turn it on to try it out and just for fun a few times if it is in the game.) But, if this was in Reach’s firefight, I would have had this on. I got tired of Grunts and Jackels and Elites speaking a language we can’t understand after a while, but thats beside the point.

Nice idea, overall.

This was actually in Invasion in Reach.

Get’s killionaire, mjolner mix starts playing.

If you can call it music, sounds more like TV static to me.

I do like the idea of music playing during MM games however as mentioned above not all of the way through as it would be distracting. The beginning and the end are fine.

more like a rampage 20+ killz

Music plays at the beginning (very short). and when the game reaches 1 minute remaining, awesome, epic, pulse pounding music plays for that 1 last minute; which is very awesome! ME GUSTA!

Not for the entire match. But if you’re about to lose it plays sad, depressing music and if you’re about to win it plays exciting music. That would be cool.

That would b interesting if the music changed as you got higher sprees, like it gets more intense. But it should definitely be optional.

I hope there’s no music at all, it’s a distraction. And if it’s in, you should be able to turn it off…

I don’t think it really matters, I don’t know how it could be distracting, and it’s probably not going to even be all that loud.

I like multiplayer games that don’t have music so i can listen to my own music.
