Museum of Humanity?

Is the Museum of Humanity canon or just part of Halo 3’s ad campaign? More specifically the John 117 Monument which wasn’t even completed until 2610…50+ years from the start of Halo 4. Surely they’d reference Halo 4-6 especially if they find John and Cortana and go to war again. Retcon or ONI cover-up? If retcon or not part of canon alright, but if it’s a cover-up then that means we must know how the new trilogy ends…with humanity surviving. Maybe too much Halo nerd???

I thought the same thing too, im going to guess its not cannon since the battle of new Mombasa diorama is not how it happened in the game

Awesome theory! You could be on to something.

Here’s a cookie (::slight_smile:

It proves that Master Chief is dead and Halo4-6 is just a delusion he’s experiencing just before he dies.

As far as canon, I imagine the ads rank well below games and books.

As of Halo Reach, the Museum of Humanity is confirmed to be canon. It seems likely that the John-117 Monument is likely canon to, as not other source has claimed it to be false. It’s entirely possible that the events of the Reclaimer Trilogy will never be known to most of Humanity, covered up by ONI.

When did they ever mention the battle of New Mombasa in those ads?

What is retcon?

I coulda sworn I heard that those adds we’re out the window as far as canon goes, I could be wrong.

> What is retcon?

Retcon stands for Retroactive Continuity. It means altering previously established facts in a fictional work. An example is the the change in appearance of the Brutes or Elites in each game. The most recent version is meant to be the way they always looked.

It was never explicitly stated that everything in the “Believe” campaign is non-canon, though some may be. For example, the Museum of Humanity is canon.

My thoughts exactly. :wink:

Those pesky spooks!

Well, the way I think about it. That monument was a recreation of just one of the battles that John had participated in. And they chose that battle because it was one of the pivotal battles in the human covenant war.

^ I think I like that lol
