Would you guys like to see the s2s, s3s, and s4s all in the same multyplayer experience, like in spartan ops or matchmaking? I also have an idea about differences in abilities off of spawn based on which one you pick right here(https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst227491_Bringing-back-the-best-of-the-new-and-old.aspx). I just want to know if you want different generations of Spartans in one mp, and if you do, would you want slight changes in stats.
If this is a popular idea, let’s see if we can get it to the attention of 343i. If not, let’s let it die quitely I guess.
Well, I think there would be more interesting ways at developing pseudo classes in Halo multiplayer. Specifically I would introduce multiple Human factions with each their own Spartan or Spartan equivalent. UNSC would feature a very normalized equipment set while new human factions A and B featured more spice weapons and abilities designed for more advanced tactics (that while sporting less utility could, if used well, deliver a slightly greater effect.)
I believe that would be a great idea, however I think what most Developers would do here are: Give cool new opening saying: Enlist in Program ~ Spartan, Elite, Forerunner, and when you pick on the Spartan, it says ENROLLMENT: Spartan II, Spartan III and Spartan IV.
OR
they just let us unlock the armour normally in a casual fashion.
Since multiplayer is canon now, this would cause issues. Every player could choose to be a Spartan-II, but there are canonically only a few left. Another reason why I think multiplayer and canon should stay separate.
I also don’t think choosing your class would make a significant difference, as their abilities are more or less the same. I think the IIs are slightly stronger, and if that’s the case, then everyone would just choose to be an S-II.
My idea was to make s2s have the ability to sponge 2-3 more body shots from automatics, give them the ability to dual weild and a five persent movement speed buff. To counter this , they do not get to use armor abilities and are bigger targets, and easier to headshot. The difference between s2s and elites are cosmetic, the same as would be the difference between the s3s and 4s
I don’t ever want to see this. It just feels wrong. I don’t know why but the idea is really unappealing to me.
I’d much rather see work get put into Elites and maybe Forerunners and Brutes. I love the SIVs in MM but this would make the SIVs compete with SIIs and IIIs which just isn’t fair because they haven’t been built up yet and the community will likely turn against them even more if we’re given a choice like this.
Maybe, just maybe in Halo 6 I might consider this a bit more but I don’t know.
If by then the SIVs have proven themselves like the others have and have become just as accepted as previous generations then I might be more open to the idea but it would really feel like a waste of a player model to me when there are far more interesting playable characters we could have.
Plus I really enjoy MM being cannon.
Posted an idea about this a long time ago, differences would be armor really.
II’s would get halo2-3 armor,
III’s reach and spi armor
IV’s get… 4 lol
Joshua G 217reporting!
Ps…go III’s!
I’d love to be a Spartan II in Halo 5 MM.
People will be forced to use s3s and 4s if they want armor abilities, and if none like the s4s armor, we don’t need to see it all that often.
Basically that’s my rational.
