According to Windows Central, 343 is drafting plans for multiple flights (trials with Halo Insider members) later this year. Senior producer Michael Fahrny spoke to them about how flights were key to deliver Halo MCC smoothly on PC and they plan to use player feedback again in order to guarantee that Halo Infinite will be successful.
A TLDR; version of these news is also reported at Xbox Era.
Looks like we will have a chance to get our hands on Halo Infinite before Fall!
That would be awesome! It’s good to hear that they consider the Insider flight program to be very important and that they want the game to launch in the healthiest state that it can be. I remember playing the Halo 5 beta a full year before the game came out and having a blast. Hopefully they announce flights soon but realistically the first flight probably won’t be until May at the earliest imo.

I hope it takes a while, since I haven’t been able to secure my Xbox Series X yet and all I can play on my PC is Halo 1 & 2 with OG Xbox graphics =D
I was once a part of the halo feedback system, but stopped receiving the surveys. Is that how you gain access to the flights? Basically, where did I go to get in line?
I imagine there being 2-3 separate flights. One of the flights is the Campaign Flight. Another one is the Multiplayer Flight. The third flight could be the BTB 2.0 mode or whatever Infinite’s “big mode” is. All of these taking place in Summer 2021

Yes we knew about that since the Inside Infinite update, staten says,
> We can’t wait for you to join us on the Halo Infinite adventure, first with Insider flighting later next year, and then when we ship in Fall 2021.

Was literally just about to say this. This is hardly news by any means, flighting was confirmed over a month ago.
I assume this is being brought up again after a tweet was sent out last night commenting on that Windows Central article saying there would be multiple flights this year.
God I hope so. Fingers crossed covid doesn’t ruin plans again. At this point I just want to play regardless of what state it’s in lol Just let me play and provide feedback.
I believe the best answer that 343 could give to “Craig-gate” at this moment would be to release the exact same demo they showed last year with improved graphics. And give Craig a nametag, so that we can recognize him with his new look!
I hope they release these ‘flights’ sooner than summer. In my opinion there should be a flight released in the next month or two. Let it run for a week or two then you have time to analyze the data collected and fix what needs to be fixed. Between 2-3 flights, I think they should be over with/concluded with flighting near the end of Summer. That way 343i has plenty of time to make the finishing touches between the end of summer and release.

Yep, I think an early flight is important.
I have no doubt there will be a crap out over whatever direction they have decided to take the movement mechanics.
An early flight, even if it’s very short, will give people time to get over it and focus on how to move forward with the second flight.
The other option is a multiplayer trailer - make a clear statement of what direction we are taking so that people can get their sillies out before we get our hands on it.

It just makes more sense to not put yourself in a position where you’re under a time constraint. Its unhealthy and unwise and a set up for failure in some magnitude (speaking from the way 343i should look at it). Getting flighting done early and giving yourself plenty of time before the game launches is the way to go. In my opinion you should for the most part, be on cruise control a month out of launch. It would show confidence in your product.
It’s been a long time since I last wore my Spartan gear. A long time since alien blood stained my armor… a long time since red vs blue training exercises… I can’t wait to see what Halo Infinite brings to the Series X or my gaming computer!!!
