I recently purchased the halo 5 edition xbox. This included halo 5 as a dowload. What I was left with was a second xbox one and an upset girlfriend who wanted to play with me. My thought was I needed to purchase another copy of halo 5 just for her to play. WRONG. Per the conversation I had with a Microsoft support specialist, as long as I am the main account on both consoles, my games are her games. This also applies to the ability to share live. As long as I am the primary account my girlfriend and I can play any game that I download online, with friends, at no extra cost. No repurchases. No additional xbox live memberships. Best news I’ve heard about the xbox one and I hope I helped out some fellow gamers
Yeah I love it. Microsoft hit it out of the park with that feature. unfortunately very few people know about it.

exactly. which is why i tried to spread the word on here, at least i know a few people saw it. i know its not extremely common to have multiple consoles in the same household but with this generation of gaming it seems couch coop has died. if i had known about this i would have bought a generic used xbox one for her long ago but i didnt want to purchase 2 of every game!

So does that mean you can only switch your home console once per year?

My little brother bought the special xbone as well and when he redeemed his code the game downloaded on my box as well. Made me happy:)

im not sure about switching home console. as far as i know they are both my home consoles. i was the first one to sign into them and i havent set anyone else up as the primary. hopefully someone has a better answer!

this is kindof what you are going through. if you scroll down it has a support fix that hard resets the profile and allows you to set it as home on your profile.

yeah, and because you are the main account holder you share can share your xbox live on the console so you wont need to have multiple subscriptions. i wish the would have advertised this or at least made it known. i think xbox would be a by far more popular choice in the console wars
