Multiple Campaigns Post Launch?

I have been wondering, since the game is live service and all that with the game evolving, does that mean that there’s gonna be more than 1 single player story? As a big campaign player I’ve been worried that we will just get the one story and be left in a sort of GTA situation where the multiplayer just keeps going and leaves single player to die with the only option to keep playing over and over.

That could happen dude, I mean, The Halo’s Campaign is the one of the main strongest point in every Halo game, is very possible that 343 keep alive Halo Infinite with some campaign post launch.

it’s a 10 years plan, so you can expect multiple post launch campaign dlc and regular multiplayer updates.

I can’t stand any more cliffhanger Halo endings and let’s be real all of them ended with cliffhangers, the worst being Halo 2,5 and Halo Wars 2.

If they make enough money selling armor colors and double XP, they will divert 100% of their attention to multiplayer. It won’t make sense from a financial standpoint to continue developing campaign.

most people will buy the campaign and it will always sell for $60 to tens of thousands of fans and will always be worth more.

Rumor has it this is 343s finale with Master Chief, so we might get a cliffhanger ending in the main campaign then gradually finish out the story with DLC.

over 10 years, i would hope they would add 1, maybe 2 Master chief centric campaigns.

i think it would be much more likely for them to do small campaigns with the multiplayer character, like spartan ops.
spartan ops campaigns could easily reuse campaign assets again, leaving most of the studio to work on multiplayer.

but yeah, its way more likely this will see a GTA style life, be re-released on future consoles with minor campaign changes or additions, but mostly multiplayer maps and cosmetics.

I think there’s potential for Chief to retire (or something that renders him MIA) and the Halo campaign DLC may evolve into the players MP Spartan picking up the torch.

I dunno if I’d like that

I don’t think there will be campaign DLC. I don’t think campaign will sell well and if that’ll be the case, financially it would be a mistake to make DLC

They going to probably update the game kinda like destiny where the map will always have things added and more parts of map that come available is my guess.

Rumor has it that every game bar halo 1 was the finale for chief, and he’s still around.

Hopefully they don’t abandon campaign dlc and spend the rest of their effort for f2p multiplayer.

This is pure speculation based off of everything we know so far, but I think it will be one of two ‘plans’.

  1. They follow Destiny’s schedule and release a chief focused campaign every year, with a new map. The four seasons that follow each release will presumably have some kind of episodic story focusing on your MP Spartan in the aftermath of each campaign.
The downside is that the campaigns could be comparatively small due to them being pumped out so quickly.

  2. They release full-sized campaigns every two years (given they’re building it within Infinite), and in the alternate years we get a smaller side-campaign using the previous map, and maybe from another character’s perspective.
The issue there is that there would be two years of seasonal stories on the same map.

That’s just presuming that there will be a seasonal story mode.

Although the “ten-year” plan sounds really cool, and at first I was also like “ooooh, more regular halo campaign content!” here’s more accurately what it looks like:

December: Mediocre campaign with only one real biome, and a terribly rushed, cliffhanger heavy ending reminiscent of Halo 5. At the end they’re like" Don’t worry, we’ll continue the story next holiday!"

Over the next year: All kinds of stupid/useless cosmetics for multiplayer, along with all the content we should have expected at launch. Original and essential Halo weapons sold as DLC, likely only for multiplayer. (I.e. magnum, shotgun, etc.)

Next holiday: Another mediocre campaign that focuses on some novelty idea and still doesn’t really take the plot anywhere.

Then basically rinse and repeat every year until the playerbase is so done with the game that they release one more campaign and by that time the game will probably just be a crossover with something totally inappropriate like the MCU, because Microsoft did a study that showed it would increase their playerbase.

I’d probably get a bit bored if it was just the same map for so long, I’d hope that they would be using the engine to build new areas if they do that.

Infinite is supposed to be the main Halo game for the next ten years, I don’t see why they wouldn’t implement campaign add-ons to make up for that.

I’m not sure if it’s been confirmed yet, maybe someone can post a link if they know an article, but I’m holding out home that the campaign will have more than one map, using a different biome. That way they could use different maps each season for more variety.

But either way, I would assume they would add new areas, such as a ship hanging above the surface of the ring, or new areas under the surface and inside mountains on the map.

And given that the ring is broken into floaty parts, there’s an option for them to just build new floaty islands and add them to the existing map.

We will most likely see the upcoming Halo Infinite getting story expansions. DLC campaign levels in Halo Infinite is also a possibility.
