Two friends and I just bought the game and realized we need to take the time to learn about each of the leaders and units so we decided to play some multiplayer against AI. The greatest problem we saw is that when you have a party of 3 Vs AI multiplayer mode the game is RANDOM. From what we noticed is that we automatically get placed in a RANDOM map, RANDOM game-type, and RANDOM difficulty. This is the most ridiculous thing I have seen. If there is a way to play a practice game where you control the game map, game-type and AI difficulty I haven’t seen it.
UPDATE: With the menus being over complicated I missed the option of Skirmish mode in the main menu. You can go here to practice and customize your matches.
I would add that an even bigger problem is that after playing against the AI, the player is given a loss no matter what. I’ve lost to the AI just once out of eight battles, but have all losses in my stats to show for it. I know they’re just stats, but this is super annoying for an OCD person like myself.
I think what you did was Mulitplayer -> find a match ->Versus AI. But that’s not a custom game. This is what you wanna do, From the main menu select Skrimish ( you can also do Mulitplayer -> custom game). Just invite your friends into your game, here you can change everything you want Map, difficulty & skulls.
All you have to do is just play some private matches against AI with your friends it is a little difficult to set up but once you figure it out should be quite easy.
Don’t waste your time on Vs AI matches…you won’t get challenges or many achievements…Plus the multiplayer,blitz, and campaign is far more entertaining and challenging.
