This evening, I’ve lost 7 matches in a row. The other night, I lost 10 in a row. I want to play this game. I want to enjoy it. But I just keep being teamed up with players that die 3/4 times as many kills they get, and it just makes me want to stop playing it altogether. It can’t be fun for them either, dying 15 times in a match.
How many of you experience this? Or is it just me that has this misfortune?
Sounds like Warzone Assault last weekend haha, I kept getting paired up against teams of 5, 6, 9, or even 10. Often against companies I recognized as housing very, very good players. I think the majority of my games were losses, but at least they were quick.
Meanwhile, I didn’t see much of that on my side of the party. I got lucky and was paired as one of the Randoms on their team a few times, but usually it was the other way around.
I don’t know the specifics of the matching system, but sometimes I hear it’s like an average? A really good player will make the game think that the lesser skilled (or even downright awful) players paired with them still have a “good enough chance” at beating the other side, so it pairs them. If it paired all four (or whatever the playlist supports) as being very good players, it’d need to find a similar group of very good players. And that doesn’t always happen. In fact, I hear that at this point in the lifespan of Halo 5 it usually won’t happen. So it looks for the next best thing, and then “Close enough I guess” after that if it still can’t. And that’s when the horrible flip flopped matches end up happening.

This has just been in Arena, but that’s just as ridiculous. I never seem to get luck like that though, and always have the poorer players.
In response to your amendment that I can’t quote, I’d be flattered by the game thinking I’m a good enough player to carry less good players, if it wasn’t so infuriating. I think I’ll take a break from the game for a few days. I’m just too sick of the bull.

That’s honestly just my best guess from what little I’ve read up on how H5’s system works, and from some tweets from the folks who oversee its maintenance and tweaking. It does end up being very frustrating though. A break sounds good though yes, there’s no real reason to keep forcing yourself to play something that’s not being enjoyable anymore. Do you have the MCC too? Maybe give that for a spin. Though I get a lot more Early-Game-Quitters and AFK’ers in the MCC than I do Halo 5 myself… ^^;

Thank you for the insight anyway.
I try to play MCC Multiplayer but struggle to find a match, even during the evening. So I’ll probably just play Battlefield 4 or something, instead.

Story of my life when I want to play Big Team xD Which is probably why I play 5 more often than not. Sure, I do like playing 2, 2A, and 4’s Big Team and Extraction/Dominion are really fun buuuuut… Well, sometimes games can be slow to find. But what’s worse is the “Restarting Search” thing.
Ever since the second Flighting back when they resumed working on this (Who was expecting that!) I’d have a lobby fill up, then IMMEDIATELY empty out without warning or error once the last player was found. For squad-sized games this may happen once or twice in a row and then go a few games before it happens again. Big Team? At the very least three resets before it finds one. My record is seven consecutive restarted searches… In exchange for ONE game before it resumes resetting the lobby over and over and over.
I might as well try the Tried And True method of uninstalling and reinstalling, maybe something went wrong on my end somehow amidst the updates… If it’s a matchmaking thing though, then they should really know about it - particularly before it lands on the PC.
It can be due to a variety of reasons, but generally that’s just how H5’s matching does things which can be very annoying. You’ll end up going on more losing streaks than winning ones. For MCC, it really depends on what playlist you play. I can always find games in BTB and Slayer, but something like Rumble Pit or ranked for example I may not get a game.

i was in that same boat the other night…i was just playing solo on wz assault and after the first time getting slaughtered i looked at the opposing team and it was Naded together with like 6 or 8 others, all like champion rank on arena or something ridiculous. my second match they were on offense and im pretty sure the game didnt even make it to 4 minutes. i just wanted to grind xp and get some commendations but something so one sided isnt even close to fun

It felt like the All-Pros playlist heh, since the amount of games I got that were relatively normal were… In a very small minority. I still stuck it out to get as much Assault as I could becuase I knew it’d be gone in a few days. Why they don’t let it go for a full week is beyond me. Sure it wasn’t popular after a while, but a FEW DAYS a month? If it’s gonna be rotational, it and Turbo should really be for more than just two or three days every thirty.
Anyway, the last time it rotated in I don’t remember nearly as many big name teams matching against, so maybe us soio’s simply got unlucky this time around.
