Multiplayer Spartan in cutscenes

So far our spartan doesn’t talk in the cut scenes and I was wondering if they should eventually give a voice or they make the dialogue very carefully so it doesn’t seem awkward

I think they didn’t do that because it sort of stops the illusion that the spartan is actually you.

If he/she/wierdo cat person didn’t speak at all then it gives you the illusion that its your voice, or even some one eleses.

They could have gotten the voice actors they used for the voice prints back to record some lines. Make the cutscenes adapt to your voice print.

Reach had different Noble Six voices for if you were male or female. And Destiny had 6 different voices, one for every combination of race and gender.

Did destiny ever carry on with that? I noticed the guardian’s stopped talking in some of the DLCs. And I’ve never played 2

When i played witch queen my guardian did talk a few times so yes they are still continuing with that

The noble six voices were mostly only used for grunts and breathing. The voice prints alresdy capture that. We haven’t had our spartan do anything particularly active in a cutscene or else we’d probably hear the voice prints.

I don’t want our spartans to talk. They did this in Anthem and while I liked the character, his voice wasn’t mine. At least with mere noises, it’s close enough to not make a difference.

Silent but deadly, just the way I like it

Not really, our characters have been pretty silent since Shadowkeep.

They were completely silent for a while, then they had a couple of lines in Forsaken and have usually had a few new lines per expansion since.

It’s rare, but so are cutscenes where we are present in the first place.

If seasons in Halo are only going to have 2-4 cutscenes spread over a couple of months, it wouldn’t be too hard for them to get a few lines recorded for each.

The trick for keeping it from breaking the “my spartan” immersion, is to make their lines very generic. When Noble Six, or our character in Destiny does speak, it’s to say something everyone playing the game will be thinking at that time. “Negative, I have the gun.” Is a great example of this. It’s generic enough that any Spartan in that position would have said it.

The Spartan can have lines, they just can’t have a personality.
