Multiplayer: (requires Xbox Live Gold on console)

Under the steam listing it says it requires Xbox Live Gold on console, surely this cant be true right? No other play anywhere games require gold and it literally makes no sense to pay a sub to play it on pc… Is the wording just weird? Why even mention console if you are buying it on steam

Can someone confirm this?

Yeah it requires gold to play multiplayer on console like always.

Obviously it requires Gold to play on CONSOLE, its either stating you need gold to play just on console or its saying you need gold to play on pc as well. Which makes no sense to mention that if you are buying it on steam.

It’s probably because of the fact that all previous Halo’s operated under an Xbox live gold membership.Plus this is an Xbox/PC exclusive, not available on PS4/5, Stadia or other consoles. So it won’t technically be a play anywhere game cause it will be very limited.

I was using the term microsoft uses for their ‘play anywhere’ games such as Halo Wars 2, you dont need xbox live gold to play Halo Wars 2 on pc but you do if you want to play it on console. I think its just a mistake and weird wording cause requiring gold for pc would make a lot of people mad lol

Yeh kind of odd that it mentions Xbox Live Gold on the steam page since steam games online is generally free to play online…though I wish they finally abolish Xbox Live Gold on consoles.
