I’m getting a message that Multiplayer is required I need an Xbox live gold with multiplayer privileges, i have one but it won’t let me play. Contacted Microsoft but they couldn’t help me after an hour of troubleshooting. They directed me here.
well couple questions first is your console connected to the internet(if not you only get the story) 2 dose your profile you are using have xbox live gold subscription (if not you are still stuck with just the story, but it you do have gold it will most likely be in you profile/system settings); everything from custom games to even forge needs gold subscription.
It may be that the setting on your Xbox One does not recognise YOU are a Gold member. I would suggest having a look at your profile online and xbox.com and going to the privileges. Here you can see if your account if able to access Gold abilities on your devices.
