I hope with the Halo Infinite ranking system they go back to the roots of Halo where you’re given military ranks, I hate the numbering system personally.
There was a video where someone slowed the gameplay down to 0.25x and the bit where all the pointers show deceased UNC personnel - it uses the military symbols from Halo Reach. They suggested that this could mean the ranks / symbols are used again in XP rankings.

I hope so, the MCC collection uses the military ranking system and I just find it more enjoyable then getting ranked by numbers.
