Multiplayer Quitters

Feels like the people who quit should be banned a solid day and shouldn’t be removing any points from ranked when you end up 2 vs 4

I think if they started pairing up people who frequently quit out of matches ( wither it be quitting or crashing ) with other people who also leave matches often before putting them with people who stick to matches it’d be more reasonable.

Add a balance system based on the number of times you quit verse the number of times you stay in matches. The more you show favor towards one side, the more frequently you’ll be paired up with those who play the same. So if you quit super often, you only get paired up with quitters. You stay in matches from start to finish almost all the time, you get paired with others who do as well.

This doesn’t go away with time either, the only way for you to be able change is to change yourself. So if you get stuck with quitters and get tired of dealing with quitters, you need to start sticking to matches more and not leaving. The same is for someone who sticks to matches and starts quitting often, they’ll start getting quitters as their teammates as well.

This way, you can play as you like, and won’t get banned at all.

The goal here is to teach them how destructive quitters are to peoples matches, and hope they will change their opinions and start sticking to matches. They’re also advocating that people should be allowed to leave at any given time, so they should have no problems constantly being paired with other frequent quitters. Arguing against it goes against their own narrative.

Sounds like GTA5 bad sport lobby i like the idea

From what i understand, they cant exactly tell who is quitting on purpose, vs. those getting disconnected because a server crapped out on them or some other reason beyond their own control.

For those of us that care, i really wish there was a way to rejoin ranked matches. I never quit on purpose but I’ve been kicked out of matches with my fireteam (server disconnect, etc) leaving them a spartan down. It really sucks. MCC has this feature, it needs to be implemented here as well.

I wouldn’t find that unreasonable if it was multiple times leaving matches within a period of time. Sometimes your internet acts up or you have to get up for one reason or another. Those people (which would include myself) shouldn’t be punished when your intention isn’t to hurt other players by leaving.

removing or re turning SBMM would help.

Unpopular opinion warning: When it’s pretty clear that I have been dumped into a lobby just to be a punching bag, and more so if I already had 2 or 3 games of it, I am out. Not wasting my time being miserable.

I learned this too. 3 bad games in a row, for whatever reasons, i put the controller down for a bit.

I don’t believe anyone would have an issue if people did it every once in a while. But there are people that will quit all the time. Those are the people everyone has a problem with.

Yep.

  1. Never start the game 3v4.

  2. Add ability to rejoin.

  3. While waiting for the join / rejoin - balance the game out (eg. scoring). Or at least remove power weapons and equipment etc while one side has the numbers advantage.

  4. I like the idea of having even numbers on the field and any extra player’s rotating off the bench with each death.

  5. If you must continue with uneven numbers - at least change the game to slayer. It’s largely pointless playing objective games with a man down. You could even lower and change the score to win to even the game out (the 4 team has to get to 40, the 3 team to 30).

And you would think it would be very easy for 343 to identify habitual quitters. If it were truly random crashes and disconnects it should happen just as many times while you are in the lead / doing well as it does when you losing / doing badly.

I’m pretty sure the average K/D of quitted games would be quite low.

No offence, but banning people for 24 hours sounds ridiculous.

What would happen if someone gets disconnected due to lag or due to the game crashing? Do they deserve a 24 hour ban? What if their friends leave to group up with their friend? 24 hours for them too? What if the game gives you a awful mode you don’t want to play?

Ban systems are already in place. Making it a 24 hour ban would probably cause most players to quit the game entirely.

Same and the fact its a free to play game with a broken SBMM system makes me have no incentive to be a punching bag.

This I totally understand, the game should just be more stable, and bans shouldn’t happen until it is.
Games been out a year now and I still crash daily and have indeed been banned as a result.

Now if the game was 99% stable I would say yeah sure, ban people for 24 from playing RANKED if they quit from a ranked match. Social playlist bans need to go though, should never be banned from social unless you were booted for teamkilling.

I love the idea of being able to rejoin a game that you have been disconnected from. I occasionally get disconnected from a match (or my Halo Infinite on PC crashes to the desktop), and would really love to be able to get back into the fight.

I have never quit a game intentionally, but regrettably have been disconnected/crashed out of a game once in a while. Even if I have jitter or high latency warnings, I finish the game and then wait awhile for my internet to get back to normal…

How about… fix the game instead so that people stop quitting? Lag/desync, extremely unbalanced teams do to SBMM implementation, just those two alone can make anyone ragequit, especially desync alone, no real reason to play when you’re just a punching bag because you’re facing unkillable oponents.

You crash daily? That doesnt seem right.

I will continue to quit out of certain matches that I choose to.:rofl:
If I get ban, I’ll just go make a sandwich :sandwich: and when I get back the ban will be gone. Even if I got ban for a day, I’ll just play custom games or something else. Halo isn’t as popular as it used to be. Which is why people that think the same way don’t care.

I’m not the type of person that will quit for no reason. If I’m with friends then I will probably stay 95% of the time. But when certain things happen like……

  1. My shots aren’t registering
  2. If its supposed to be 4v4 and it’s 3v4 or lower
  3. My teammates aren’t going for the objective
  4. Squad vs Ransoms isn’t fair in the slightest bit. A squad should be match with another squad, not random players on the other team.
  5. When I have teammates that are 4 and 20 or something similar to it. It’s one thing if they are going after the objective but if there not or there’s no objective then I’m not playing.

If one of those 5 things happen then I’m out. Its Halo Infinite 2022 not Halo 2 Classic 2004 there’s no reason for these problems in this time period.

I would stay in the game for the whole match if there was a reason to. But Halo Infinite Multiplayer Matchmaking is about how you win, not just winning the game. If players want to be rewarded for playing the game a certain way then do so a different way that doesn’t effect everyone in the match.
What would make things better for Halo Infinite is having these systems

  1. 1-50 Rank System from Halo 2 Classic
  2. Credit System from Halo Reach
  3. Overall Level System that tells you how long you been playing the game from Halo Reach
  4. Avatar System from MCC
  5. Nameplate System from MCC
  6. Accommodations System from Halo 5
If these systems where in Halo Infinite for rewarding players for short and long term it would give everyone a reason to play and stick around for a cool reward. But without them the game might as well be Custom Game Matchmaking.

Bans don’t work and making them harsher will just push people to other games. Nothing more frustrating than getting disconnected and then banned. And if a person rage quits, what good does a ban do? They’ve already decided they don’t want to play anyway and will probably just play a different game. And one last point, most of the time you know within 5 minutes if your team is gonna lose a ranked match. Does it really matter at that point if a losing player quits? Except for ctf, huge comebacks are rare especially with Infinite’s matchmaking.

so far i know there has been always a quitters problem in the halo serie’s so far and not any system has fix the problem good.

for halo infinite to make the quitting bann stronger is the worst thing to do now.
since halo infinite servers not have any stable sever connections at all so thats something there need to fix first to make sure that there is a good connection between the players and the server.

then there need to remake the compleet multiplayer playlist system and go back to the halo 5 version more that there are a lot off permante playlist’s to choose out from.

if both things are done then there can add a strong quitters bann for people that quit to much match’s.

Bingo on the reasons to quit! Couldn’t agree more, the other day I had a slayer match where one guy left immediately so we had a bot on the team just running around giving them free kills, another teammate was AFK so he gave them easy spawn kills, so it was basically me and one other guy actually playing and the other team was all running together so it was basically 2v4. At that point I was tired of basically getting slaughtered due to uneven teams and bounced, it’s not worth my sanity.

For Ranked yeah whatever, but for BTB I quit when I get Fragmentation or Deadlock, I’m not gonna waste 15-20 minutes playing on a garbage boring map. They should introduce map/mode voting and persistent lobbies that carry over from match to match. Basically like MCC.
