Multiplayer questions(Not hate)

K so last time I played halo 5 a few months ago with my friend, there was this weird breed of lag where if I were to say, jump across a ledge, it would teleport me back to the other side a couple times. Even just running it would shoot me back a few steps. (Before you ask no I wasn’t pressing the thruster button). Did anyone else have this problem? Was it fixed in an update? Bc I just spent 30 bucks on Xbox live gold so that I could try these new game modes, and I really don’t want it to be wasted. Thanks, and please help

It’s called “rubber banding” and it’s a pretty common occurrence in online games. It’s a sign of poor connection whether on your end or server-side. I haven’t experienced it myself in a while. Besides, if you already spent 30 bucks on Xbox LIVE gold then it doesn’t make much difference. Try it out yourself.

Sounds like your connection

I hope that’s not the case, though you’re probably right. Does a wired connection work better?

Alright! Thanks buddy. I’ll look into it.

Be sure to restart your console every now and again so that everything refreshes.

What do you mean ‘refreshes’ like, the Internet is working or?

I live in Brazil and my internet connection is very problematic. These ‘teleports’ happens a lot in my gameplay, especially when jumping or using an energy sword. I restart the game sometimes to refresh my connection.

Go to setting and choose restart… That will refresh the data stored in the cache memory. Or just unplug it for 10 secs.

One other thing that’s most important, is go to settings/network and see if you NAT is set to open. If it’s moderate or strict you’ll rubber band and probably get dropped from games or not have the use of reqs. Restarting the xbox will usually fix this.
