I just got the game, and I did the multiplayer (Anniversary Slayer) and I noticed the damage system was different. I assume this is to mirror the original Halo CE multiplayer, correct me if I’m wrong. I’m wondering if it is possible to play these maps with the default Slayer settings in matchmaking. Do I have to download the map pack for Reach, or is it only available on Anniversary Slayer?
If you are playing off the Anniversary disc, you can load the maps up in Custom Games and download some normal Reach gametypes off the file browser.
If you are playing off the Reach disc, then the maps show up in non-Anniversary playlists.

So they can show up in matchmaking with the Reach slayer?

Yes, but you won’t see regular Damnation when it show up in other playlists, you will just see Penance, same goes for other Anniversary maps, you’ll see their Reach counterparts.
They used to have Reach TU and DMRs inAnniversary BTB and FFA, but they removed it along with a few other playlists in the August Update
Now the only way is Custom Games
