multiplayer overview redflags?

Just watched the halo infinite multiplayer overview and there are just several things setting off my red flags

  1. at 7:32 one of the devs says you can choose prosthetics for the first time but, reach straight up had the arms first and just feels like they don’t know about reach? which makes me think, they haven’t played all of the ogs? i know nitpicky but when you start throwing out “FIRST” but that claim is, wrong makes me think you’re just blurting things out
  2. Battle pass system was being tested in mcc, which honestly does not feel like an ok thing to do, because its like using an old game that has a different way of playing things and earning into a mess with items being barred. Seriously the customization options in mcc is horrible because of how the point system works and got rid of the old ways to earn things making it super difficult to catch up on old bps
  3. bots being tested in mcc reach, while mcc reach is not infinite. Using ai in one game then porting it to another with VAST differences is something you just don’t do unless you want to end up having the aliens colonial marines situation where its all bugged!
  4. Making gameplay things for HALO, being behind battlepass updates is going to make the game dip hard with how its doing with mcc. sure its going to be all brand new so many players but season 5 or so, player base is not going to last long if its stale or not bring anything new in that will keep people there

While I understand the hype, I’m putting my foot down and not buying it all the way. Its going to be free yeah, but is it going to stay in the style of previous games (Except 5) and is it going to actually understand what halo is all about and not what the devs think its all about, with mcc its the problem of variety being gutted and only being allowed to use insanely broken midrange weapons that does not allow any deviation with weapons, sure you can uuuuuuse the other weapons but you’re not going to be winning every fight unless you use this broken weapon (ie dmr, br, and pistol).

The devs have gone and done some great things! such as custom game browser, porting the games pretty well, bringing in new awesome armor for reach.
But they straight up removed the halo 3 base model and BROKE it with how they made the new model, had some pretty terrible problems with 2 and straight broke multiplayer because they added a HIDDEN RANKING SYSTEM IN THE GAMES, take the game with a healthy heaping of salt people don’t buy in because new halo game, remember 343i didn’t even know who Master Chief was when making halo 5, they are good people but they make some stupid choices which is just understandable but don’t let the hype overtake you and freak out when you’ve been served something not that good

  1. Pretty sure they mean placing those prosthetic limbs without them being attached to a particular chest piece. Means more customization. Not a red flag.

  2. As far as battle passes go, MCC’s was very well done. They also stated that it’s only obe way to unlock armor. So different sets will be unlocked different ways.

  3. Im pretty sure they tested the bots on infinite, and didn’t just copy paste them in and say “Well that’s done.”

  4. The entire reason they rebuilt their engine from the ground up was to make it easier to implement gameplay changes. The people who work on the unlockable armor and such are different from those working on gameplay and balancing.

Seems like youre trying to force problems… Do you eben know Who Joe staten is? And you Tell me He didnt “play” the old games or what

Who said they Port Ai from tech to Infinitie?

Gsmeplay is Not behind battlepass, unlockable cosmetics are.

Battlepass in mcc is an diffrent System than in Infinite especialy because its Free in mcc.

Prostetic arm was also in halo 4 and 5 but Not every arm and legs.

You inteprete more problems then there are.

1: Like CannonHorse mentioned, we get to choose a prosthetic without being tied to specific armor.

2A: My main problem with the MCC battle pass was being forced to unlock garbage for a game you refuse to play (Call of “Halo” 4), or unlocking Call of “Halo” inspired armor to get the stuff you want. I doubt this will be an issue here unless the only good armor is tier 90+ with all the armor from “Halo” 4 and 5 being in tiers 1-90.
2B: This is a fair criticism. I loved starting Halo 3 with only a couple sets of armor, and how great it felt when doing some random task to unlock the rest (especially Recon). Reach was okay, but didn’t have enough challenge based requirement. Some armor could have several requirements, like get X achievement and be rank Y.

3: I am not aware of bots being in Reach on MCC, but it would be a welcome addition, provided they are competent, but not OP. Good luck getting them to work properly with some of the wacky custom games. If it works, it works. If not, then we can rightfully complain.

4: Huh? Last I checked, the battle pass items were cosmetic only.

There are plenty of things to criticize 343i on based on their long track record. I still feel burnt despite not spending a penny on any Halo products since the MCC launch, and plan to continue to do so, but many of these complaints are not the hill to die on. Right now I am more worried about exploiting when to use power ups (OS when grabbing a flag/oddball), armor coatings, colors in team based games, generic “Halo” 5/Destiny/Titanfall 2 looking weapons, and the lack of elites.
