Is this game only focusing on DMR and BR in multiplayer?
I mean, I like Halo 4 multiplayer but the only weapon people use mostly are the DMR adn BR.
In other Halo’s in FFA or other playlists you had much more variety. Shotgun, sword, needler, rocket, sniper, smg, spiker, concussion rifle etc…
You can get different guns in MP but it’s not like placed on the map. You need to get ordance drops. When you get one you kinda only get a couple of kills with that special weapon and then it’s off to start with the BR and DMR again.
I also can’t wait for more playlists to come. Regicide is the only FFA game but being the king is a pain in the -Yoink-. I prefer normal Rumble Pit.
Just some of my thoughts about that aspect of the game.
If you ever played against a game full of good people in halo ce, everyone just used the pistol. People who want to win will always use the utilitarian weapons. Every FPS has one that dominates the others, excluding cod of course.

Infinity slayer has such frequent Ordinance drops that other players are bound to drop a different weapon on death. Also, I’ve been playing Dominion, which resupplies with new weapons about every minute, so try that if you don’t want to worry about Ordinance.

…That was so not the case in every other Halo game, save rockets, shotgun, swords and snipers, that much is obvious. Everyone used the BR in Halo 3 and 2, and the DMR in Reach. I don’t know how you could possibly think otherwise, unless you commonly screwed around with duel spikers.

The Carbine wrecks!!! I been gettin crazy kills with that! Sniper is awesome, needler dominates, rockets, there’s tons of weapons that can dominate once you learn how to use them against others and get better at playing. Obviously tight quarters calls for tight quarters weapons and long/long range calls for long distance. The BR and DMR also aren’t too effective for some of the larger moving vehicles are they? You just gotta figure out what works and what doesn’t work…
Try playing on small maps, I’ve been using nothing but DMR and BR don’t get me wrong but I had a few great games with the AR on the small maps playing KOTH.
It’s thanks to the new ordinance drops and weapon spawns on the maps. It’s just a smarter and more efficient style of play to go with a BR/DMR.
Sure other weapon spawns are cool but the only real good power weapons to place over imo would be the Sniper and Rockets. Against 4 competent players do you think a gun like the Scatter Shot will ever do damage? Probably not. It’s just the direction the game is going to go. Personally I miss consistent weapon spawns on maps.
My favorite gametypes have been CTF, Dominion, and Big Team Slayer. All three have either weapon spawns on map or constant drops. Infinity slayer is all about ordinance.

Actually yes the scatter shot is great and should be a 1hit kill if you’re using it properly. That was a bad example.

Yes the scatter shot is a great close range weapon but you’re missing my point. In a match made game against a team of 4 competent players with a sandbox dominated by DMR/BR, chances are you’re not going to do much since you will always be kept at range.

Any weapon variety problems you have can be solved by playing Dominion, because Dominion is Dominion, and Dominion is Jesus slapping his Jesus fish in your face and saying “Oy, play Dominion, you -Yoink-.”
I have to disagree I see a lot of people using the AR as well and I’ve gotten wrecked by the carbine a few times. I suppose you were mainly focusing on the fact that there aren’t any people using using power weapons. Thats a valid point I feel like a lot of the power weapons have been weakened or maybe I’m not just use to them yet I don’t know it is odd.
The carbine doesn’t “wreck”. Although I wish it did. It doesn’t even come close to the dmr. And you don’t exit you’re scope when shot so all those shots you land don’t do much compared to 4 by the dmr.
I knew a ton of people that used a variety of non power weapons in halo 3. Now…just spawn with dmr and its over.seen it way too much already to say its not op.
I’d just chalk it up to being day 2, and the BR and DMR are the first two guns you unlock. Personally, I’ve been using the Covie Carbine since I unlocked it, and it can’t quite match the DMR for range, but if you get in close they’re done.
