Idk i loved Halo 3 and loved Halo Reach but the multiplayer just dosent have me hooked in this game. Idk what it is i love the campaign and think the gameplay is fun but idk. Anyone have suggestion on how to make it more fun?
If you don’t think it is fun then don’t play it. Some people do think it is fun and get annoyed by negativity like this.
Play with friends? A full 4 man party makes multiplayer way more fun for myself.
Adam429 im not saying the game is bad at all I actually really enjoy it. It just seems to be missing something
Ya that does make the game more fun, ill try to get all my friends on in the future
its, cuz u lost cortana, your depressed! lol
but i feel u too, i think its the maps, or the absents of dual wielding or… no wait its probably cuz every time i take a step out into the open or in a vehicle i get dmr/br’ed to death…
Your right its not that fun. Ive played almost 80 matchmaking games and have yet to have a competitive match. So much for that invisible ranking system everyone was praising. The campaign was fun, but matchmaking is getting old very quickly.
Thus far I really enjoy the War Games. Halo 4 truly has the best Halo multiplayer that I’ve played yet. I just wish that they would implement standard playlists, because I’m itching to rock my SWAT. Not too big on the other gametypes that they have current, though Infinity Slayer isn’t bad.
I have to agree. Even after just a couple of days, Halo 4’s multiplayer has already lost its appeal to me.
Personally, it’s how random the game is. Sometimes I’ll completely dominate with the Assault Rifle, and other times I’ll come in last on the team. There’s no rhyme or reason to it, no underlining cause, it’s just how the game is.
I really don’t know what happened. On paper, a lot of 343i’s ideas look good. The game is fast-paced, it’s pleasantly chaotic, it’s still got the “Halo feel”, the maps are very well balanced (save for Complex…), and the gun balancing -for the most part- is decent. So why is it I find myself just leaving matches so often (not rage-quitting, just… leaving), telling myself, “This isn’t fun”.
The game is very, very inconsistent, and that’s probably what irks me the most. In Halo 3 I wasn’t exactly a top-scoring player, but I could at least play on a very consistent level. Halo Reach and -especially- Halo 4 lack that aspect.
As a side-note, the fact that this game has very little replay-value outside of multiplayer doesn’t help it’s case. Forge is fun, but I miss just messing around on Forge World. Custom games have been neutered to s**t. Campaign is probably the best in the franchise, but that isn’t saying much (it’s like going from a 3/10 to a 5/10). So on and so forth.
I’m actually having a lot of fun. To me Halo 3 was Bungie’s pinnacle. But Halo 2 was almost as great. They really took a step back with Reach so I was ready to see what someone else could do.
Considering it’s 343’s first effort, they captured the Halo feel. I’m looking even more forward to a next-gen Halo now that 343 has gotten its feet what. I’m having tons of fun, actually. Maybe more fun than I ever had in Reach, but it’s clearly too early to tell.
I hated the loadouts in Reach. I hated the sprint. But here in H4 the sprint feels more organic. It feels like it belongs. It’s not as cheap. People are -Yoinking!- about the DMR. I LIKE it. It’s nice that they sped up the game some. There is a lot of potential here. Remember, even H2, Bungie’s first foray into XBL, started with several hiccups. And they patched the game and it became better.
So some of the little issues will be cleaned up, I’m sure.
But by and large, I love it. And I really hope they don’t listen to the crying in this forum and nerf that DMR. lol
I haven’t had this much fun playing Halo multiplayer since when I first started laying Halo 3’s multiplayer! However, that can only last so long. As soon as I get my favorite armor (Scout at SR-38 -_-) I’ll be really jumping into Custom Games. 343i needs to fix that, soon.
I’m willing to bet it’s just the playlist options if you think the core gameplay is fun. The stuff we have is the bare minimum but it’s understandable on their side so I’m not gonna complain about it. Just give it some time for them to streamline the playlists and see if that changes anything for you
My friends and I are having a difficult time understanding strategy in the game.
We were a dominating team in 3 and Reach and now struggle just to pull out W’s.
We all agree that 1v1s are not the issue.
We started to think camping is at its worse now without fixed weapon spawns, starting weapon of choice, and AAs like Promethean vision.
Is that why the game feels stale?
There are only two good Slayer maps in Haven and Conflict . . . Maybe that’s the issue?
Great job spoiling the campaign Smitty.
never take it seriously and find ways to mess around, it might mess up your k/d but id rather have that crap then take it to seriously
I agree, I don’t feel like I have accomplished anything for leveling up in multiplayer. The menues look unappealing same goes with the Spartan Armor. Overall its a good game but not great. Campaign was very good though I thought, just beat it today on Legendary.
Not gonna lie: WHen I got the game I went through campaign first, then hopped into Multiplayer. I just wasn’t getting that into it.
Then I left the game alone for about a day (college and work got the best of me), came back to play multiplayer again, and I was HOOKED.
So I dunno. Maybe you were anticipating too much going into it, and need a day or so’s space from it? Come back, it’ll seem better- at least it certainly did for me! I’m enjoying it immensely now.
What i think he means is if you are trying to play competively then it’s not fun because of the clean up kill spawning system

Thanks for the spoiler alert /sarcasm. Come on, some of us haven’t finished the campaign yet.
OT: Try different playlists and play with friends.
Its just not a halo game anymore. The other halo games were fair and you were either good or you were’nt and had to fight for the power up weapons. All this perk crap is annoying, and playing this makes me mad but i love halo and I played every single one. Before this game was realeased, all i did was play halo reach none stop to prepare for halo 4. Now that its here, its almost like playing a new game, just doesn’t feel like halo anymore.
