One thing that Halo always gets right is music. It always queues at the right moment and it always gives you a rush of epic feelings as it plays while you play the game. I’ve always wished that there was more music during multiplayer matches.
Here’s what i’m thinking:
The Initial Music
-Queues right at the start of the match, it makes the players feel like badasses. Imagine something like this playing when everyone spawns. I do not mean the entire song, mostly something like the first 30 seconds or so.
Mid-Match Music
-This would depend on which team you’re on. If you’re winning the match by a large margin, something like this should play to motivate your team to keep up the badassery.
However, if you happen to be losing, music similar in tone to this can play. It kind of gives you the feeling where there’s a lot at stake and you’ve gotta step it up so you can have a chance at winning.
I am NOT saying that this exact music should play. But I do believe that music similar in tone to these songs should play. I have no idea whatsoever as to what Neil Davidge has up his sleeve in terms of the Halo 4 Soundtrack, but from the glimpses we’ve had at it, it truly doesn’t abandon Marty’s music, it’s an evolution of it. I’m sure he has come up with music on par with the Halo sound we’ve come to know over the years. And i’m certain he has music that can fill the roles that i’ve created above me
One more thing: NOT ENTIRE SONGS WOULD PLAY. Just excerpts.
> If I wanted to listen to music, I’d listen to music. It’s distracting.
I understand that some may get distracted by it while others seem to be influenced positively by it. I guess i’m one of the few. Anyway, there’s awlays sound options in the menus for those who prefer not to have it playing.

> Music at the start, Music at almost end game and then End game music.
And I forgot to mention, I don’t mean entire songs playing during a match. I was mostly referring to excerpts from the soundtrack playing during those points in the match.
Edit: Kind of like how Battlefield 3 slowly starts playing music as a team is going to win or lose. It would be relatively quiet.

Ahh yes makes more sense then
I actually wish they’d add this particular sequence playing in Skyline from ODST: LINKY
Imagine that playing when both teams are at 40-40 >:3

When I first started reading OP, I was interested and your first idea for starting song was really interesting, that would pump players nicely. But all the others wouldn’t fit in the multiplayer. When game starts, there could be that bad–Yoink- music and when the game is nearing ending, another piece of music starts playing (like it did E3-build)

I didn’t really mean the same exact music that I featured, i’m saying music similar to those pieces as in the theme and feel of them.
Make it a toggle, if anything. My ears are the eyes that see past the tiny FoV. I strain to hear footsteps, gun-shots, grenades, explosions, powerup noises, clatters and all that so I can decipher what’s actually happening in the 3D space. Have too much auditory clutter (lots of ambience, music, etc.) and it becomes annoying to players that want to play the game, not escape reality for half an hour.

in-game music has already been confirmed. Go look at the flag and oddball assassinations, and no thats just music they just slapped on there.
If they do include MP music, I want an audio slider or mute option. I personally find it more immersive to play MP games and to hear nothing but the gunshots and occasional announcer.
A victory or Loss theme at the end of the game, perhaps, would be okay, but the actual game would become too cluttered and distracting with music.
That’s my opinion, any way.
That would be really nice, a unique piece of music to represent to players the feel of the map. You know: adding a bit more spook and charm to the map!
Although it could be a bit distracting! Maybe it should be a custom game option! Either music on or off!
