Multiplayer needs a system like 'tinder'

As a mostly solo player, I find the social experience of Halo Infinite lacking.

The game itself (despite some issues) is fun. But, the surrounding experience often feels empty.

When I get a couple of friends to join in, the experience is much better. When they leave, I often sign out because the solo experience is too isolated for me, personally. But I am the only Halo MP fan among us so that’s how it goes most of the time.

Because in my experience, games are often silent because people don’t talk or communicate that often. Halo is primarily a team game, and even though talking isn’t necessary, it makes the experience so much better - unless players are angry or whiny.

But when you play a few matches and nobody speaks, it all feels empty to me, personally. What a sucky way to play a social multiplayer game, right? I’d rather join a game that my friends play and people talk.

I understand that everyone’s experience will vary. But if there is one thing about the MP experience that hurts the game, outside of the game itself, it has to be the isolated “social” experience.

This is where the Tinder idea comes in. Or put another way, a veto system for the social side.

Anonymously, you get the choice to choose which players you’d like to party up with for the next matches, and they can do the same. If you both choose ‘yes’, the game keeps you all together. Another option would be ‘prefer players who talk’. If you have it set to on, then you are likely to get matched with other players who’ve selected that option.

I don’t know if it will work but something needs to be done to enhance the overall social nature of multiplayer.

Especially if we can see their percentage of game’s quit. Then I can keep swiping for someone else.

This is a great post.
