Multiplayer/Live issue

I tried getting back on Reach for the first time in over a year today (finally out of college, woohoo!) on my Xbox one but the game keeps insisting that I am not connected to Xbox live or any kind of internet even though I very clearly am. I’ve tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it as well as hard resetting my console. Does anyone here have any idea what the problem is? Any help is greatly appreciated as I would love to play this game again.

Congrats on being done with college

Are you playing on Xbox One or 360? Please quote this so I get a notification and know to reply to you.

“on my Xbox one”
It’s hard to tell but I’d say he’s on the XB1. Just a guess.

Thanks! I’m on my Xbox one! I think I may have figured it out, apparently my gold ran out but I never noticed because my brother and I have our accounts linked and his gold hasn’t, so my Xbox one games have still worked but I don’t think 360 BC games work like that on the XB1.

It doesnt even give me a network connection to live as an option tho, so do you think the expired gold would be the main reason or could it also be something else in addition to that?

Ah looks like I didn’t thoroughly read your post and skipped over the part where you mentioned Xbox One, OP. So I’ve had this happen before and the only current (as of early May or late April) way to fix it is to reset your Xbox One. Don’t worry, it’s not as bad as it sounds even though it’s a bit annoying.

You’re gonna want to follow this guide. IMPORTANT thing is to make sure you select “Keep My Games & Apps” otherwise you’ll have to re-install everything. Then you’ll have to download your profile again to your Xbox One. All your settings should transfer over. Give the game a try again and you should be connected to Live for your 360 games.
